Craig Rosebraugh Releases pentagonlies.com website

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CRAIG ROSEBRAUGH, FORMER EARTH LIBERATION FRONT SPOKESPERSON, RELEASES NEW WEBSITE AGAINST WAR IN IRAQ; CRITICAL OF U.S. ANTI-WAR MOVEMENT

PORTLAND, OR – Former Earth Liberation Front spokesperson Craig Rosebraugh released his new website today that is against the war in Iraq, yet critical of the anti-war movement in the United States. Located at http://www.pentagonlies.com, the website contains a number of essays written by Rosebraugh including “Operation Iraqi Occupation,” “A Message to the U.S. Anti-War Movement,” “On Political Violence,” “A Message to U.S. Troops,” and much more. The site also includes a critical analysis of the U.S. government’s anti-terrorism campaign still being waged in Afghanistan.

“The goal of this website,” Rosebraugh stated, “is to educate the public on the real reasons for the war in Iraq while simultaneously stressing the need for a revolutionary movement within the United States.” According to Rosebraugh, the Bush administration manufactured this conflict not to protect the American public or liberate the Iraqi people, but rather to benefit U.S. corporations that have a vested interest in the natural resources and eventual rebuilding and ruling of Iraq.

“The real victims here are the supposed beneficiaries, the Iraqi people, who are being massacred in Baghdad and other locations from the U.S. bombing campaign,” Rosebraugh proclaimed.

Pentagonlies.com also displays Rosebraugh’s essay heavily critiquing the current anti-war movement in the United States. Calling the state sanctioned protest tactics ineffective, Rosebraugh writes, “The only possibility of stopping this current military action is to engage in strategies and tactics which severely disrupt the war machine, the U.S. economy, and the overall functioning of U.S. society – particularly how it relates to consumerism and the economy.” He goes on to provide seven controversial suggestions, largely methods of direct action, that he feels could actually stop the war in Iraq.

Not good

Rosebraugh's suggestions appeal to those who cannot think past mayhem to create change. If you started doing what he says, in this country, it would provide an excellent excuse to institute marital law and even more severe civil rights abuses. Maybe full-scale violence will be necessary in the future- but now?

There's also this idea that involving middle of the road or liberal types is "selling out." Frankly, it's arrogant and hateful. Maybe the reason the anti-war protests did not help in the 60's and 70's is because of division and lack of decent organization. I do think we need to do things differently but have we really tried everything?Think about it, then act.

Huh?

by Stop the Bullshit Friday, Apr. 04, 2003 at 12:51 PM

A former Earth Liberation Front spokesperson opens a website dedicated to his own writings. Sounds credible to me. He posts some nasty photos of civilian casualties then goes on to list the usual liberal conspiracies. He didn't show any Iraqis deformed from Hussein's chemical weapons, though. I wonder why? Please, give me a break. By the way, "We don't want your fucking war," or wait, I forgot, most people support the war and our troops. "We don't want your fucking bullshit."
