About 2 dozen arrested for Downtown sit-down.

by Carolina Saturday, Mar. 22, 2003 at 1:51 PM

Pre-planned civil disobediance conducted at morning protest in downtown Los Angeles.

About 2 dozen of the demonstrators at the peace rally in front of the downtown LA federal building did sit down in the pedestrian walkway across Los Angeles Street this morning, March 21 at 9 a.m.

Los Angeles Police gave a 3 minute "unlawful assembly declaration", repeated at 2 and 1 minutes before escorting the protestors to a nearby police bus where they were handcuffed and boarded.

The crowd cheered and chanted as the arrests were made. There was no resistance by those arrested in the planned civil disobediance.

A few corparate television news crews were there, and from a monitor held by the Fox Ch. 11 crew I could see they had a live helicopter picture of the protest before the sit down began on Ch. 11 .

good idea, 'concerned punk'....

i think there will be a very big protest and march tomorrow at Hollywood and Vine. but i have seen plenty of small self-organized protesters holding signs at the Westwood Federal Building on random days. there's probably somebody out there right now. i mean i wouldn't be surprised.

if you are a kid, that doesn't mean you can't organize successfully. adults are the ones who can't seem to even keep the world from falling apart.

if you can get even a few people to hold anti-war signs anywhere cars are driving by - - i am sure a LOT of people will honk to support you. even if it's just you by yourself, i think these small protests are very very effective because it doesn't take a lot of effort but a LOT of drivers get the message and when they honk, other drivers get that message too.

protestors

i think that protestors should not be arrested for sharing their opinions. i think that the police are stupid and will try to find any little thing that they do wrong to get them in trouble for it. it is very stupid. people have the right to protest their opinions.

They Don't have the Right

by Skinner Wednesday, Mar. 26, 2003 at 11:01 PM

They don't have the right to interfere with traffic, even if they want to share their opinion. Can I share my digested dinner with the protesters?

I'm glad they got arrested

by They should all be in jail Wednesday, Mar. 26, 2003 at 11:09 PM

All of them should be in jail for treason at a time of war, especially those who went to Baghdad to become human shields for Saddam. If I was a cop it would bring me much joy in arresting any of you bastards. You are all protesting something that is so fucked up thhat you can't be too smart. Vietnam was one thing, but this is something that should never be protested. These terrorists would not hesitate to hit us with a fuckin nuke and you seem to be alright with that, and you even want to go out on the streets to protest for Saddams right to have WMD. Now you'll tell me that they don't have any. If you'd pay attention to Fox News, the best source for all of your information, and not Al jazeera- a media organization that loves to spread around the hate for the USA, you may get some facts.
FACT- Soldiers who have been surrendering have had a large stockpile of WMD survival kits. I guess you will tell me that the US MArines are lying. You fucking stupid assholes! Your not over there fighting for your rights, your sitting at home bitching in favor of an evil dictator--How the hell do you know what is going on if you don't watch the news in AMerica? You can't get it from Al Jazeera!!!!! Ihope you all keep getting arrested because it makes me laugh and feel good that at least some of you are paying for your support of pure evil!
