**** 500 STUDENTS MARCH AT CAL STATE
UNIVERSITY OF LONG BEACH
AGAINST WAR. March 20, 2003 ****
The students of CSULB overwhelmingly today
showed massive resistance against the Bush
Administration and its war for oil and global
domination (no U.S. invasion force has ever
placed a democratic government over a
"liberated" or allied 3rd world country). Over 500
Students came together in a spontaneous march
which circled the campus and ended up at 7th
street near the 405 Freeway, around 12noon.
Students took over the streets and police
helicopters flew overhead. Many students walked
out of there classes in support of the march.
School and Police officials ran around frantically
trying to discover where the march was going - but
alas it was a snake march with no pre-planned
route.
Hundreds of students gathered after the
march to discuss the war, many having never
experienced an open display of public discourse
such as that in there entire life. At night many
students gathered at the Anti-War rock fest and
others on 2nd street at a candlelight anti-war vigil.
After weeks of attempting to shut down the show,
school officals had no choice but to allow the
concert to take place.
Millions marched across the U.S. and the
world today. CSULB students are part of this large
movement! The CSULB Campus Progressive
Collective Meetings are at USU Room 309 at 5pm
every Wednesday. The Campus Progressives put
out a call for people to attend and support the
March 22nd anti war rally at Lincoln park in Long
Beach. Solidarity forever!
