Neighbors for Peace and Justice gather in Alhambra every Friday night from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. They meet on the corner of Main Street and Garfield. They end with an energetic mini-march. "Money for Heath Care not for War!"
In Alhambra NPJ also rallies on Sundays at the same location from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m.

This is great to see. I grew up in Alhambra (AHS class of 86) and I'm glad there's a peace movement back in my hometown!

People like these protesters are what gave birth to Hitler, Mussolini & Tojo...etc. Tyrants count on the hopelessly naive to give power and strength to their bizarre and murderous ways, and to clear a path for their demented ideology. Hitler always found it amusing that neith England, France, nor the United States stood up to him while they could have stopped him. There was a large pacifist movement in the 1930's around the world that would rather have peace in "their time" rather than stand agaisnt evil. That lovely sentiment ended up costing the world about 50 million people. Keep that in mind when you see these pathetic people with their pathetic signs.

In the 1930s, there were some pacifists, but more significant was the national isolationist attitude. These were not people who protested in the streets, but rather, stayed home and advocated no military action at all. They were generally midwestern Republicans, not East Coast Democrats.
More significant was a leftist movement, many of them communists or socialists, who were ardently anti-fascist. Even when our government forbade people to go and support the republican forces in Spain, many Americans went to join the international forces to fight fascism, and help restore the democratic republic in Spain.
It was democrats, leftists, and liberals versus the monarchist-church traditionalist alliance. Much like today!
By the time America got involved in WW2, leftist hatred of Hitler was at a peak (because he warred with Russia), and many reds signed up to fight in America's armies and navies, to get Hitler.

There are isolationists today: they are the Paultards. Notably, they are very different from pacifists, particularly in their outlook on the world.
Face it neo-con - you are wrong.

Strange statement for an anti-war post.
The 'Paultards' are the only ones who are voting for an anti-war candidate and Ron Paul is constantly being labeled as an 'isolationist' when he clearly expresses NON INTERVENTION.
A world of difference in respect to the imperial path these neo-cons have chosen.
