how ironic it is to see a young peace advocate waging verbal warfare. her means of communication dilute her message with hypocracy and naitivity. but i was young once too, and i also screamed as if decibal range somehow inherantly solidified my position. you want peace? become it. display it. live it. the caption "you go girl" is a perfect example of why we will go to war, and why i might lose some of my loved ones. the majority of americans who demand peace seem capable of demanding-true peace exists and is stronger than any war or weapon-it exists as NOT as an idea, but as a WAY. peace is not a noun-it is a verb.

Hmmmm, High School protesters who probably have never even heard about Kurds or Saddam Hussein's atrocities. And they're willing to ally themselves with him. They should at least educate themselves on what they're fighting for...a brutal dictator to stay in power. They're marching for Saddam's version of peace...no opposition to him.
What happened to Halabja on the Bloody Friday?
The brutal massacre of the oppressed and innocent people of Halabja began before the sunrise of Friday, 17th of
March 1988. The Iraqi regime committed its most tragic and horrible crime from the beginning of the imposed war
until now against the civilian people on Friday, 17th of March. On that day, Halabja was bombarded more than twenty
times by Iraqi regime's warplanes with chemical and cluster bombs. That Friday afternoon, the magnitude of Iraqi crimes
became evident. In the streets and alleys of Halabja, corpses piled up over one another. Tens of children, while playing in
front of the their houses in the morning, were martyred instantly by cyanide gases. The innocent children did not even have
time to run back home. Some children fell down at the threshold of the door of their houses and never rose again.
about 5000 people were murdered that day...with relatively simple chemical weapons...now Saddam has more deadly gases and biological weapons...are you waiting for this to happen here?
Maybe these cities should pass a resolution against murdering children by Saddam? Maybe we should have some marches with protesters demanding why we did nothing but sit on the sidelines for so long while saddam has gotten stronger and killed many more people. Too bad most of the 'well meaning' protesters don't understand who it is that they are helping.

Sheepdog, the link is working now. Ugly isn't it? I wonder what downtown Bagdad will look like after 800 T hawk missels hash up the 5 million civilian that used to live there?

Yes, Saddam has been horrible to the Kurds. Which makes it all the worse that
a) we did nothing a decade and a half ago when he acted against them, and helped him acquire the chemcials that were used on them
b) as a condition of using Turkey for military bases, we have made it clear that we will not permit any Kurdish independence movements to secede from Iraq.
Some of those kids probably don't know about the Kurds. The ones that do probably know that the Administration doesn't give two shits about them, other than that they're useful for getting suckers to believe in their plan for Iraq.

AS a member of the 10th marines (artillery)during operation Desert Storm I remember very clearly the doctrine we used when destroying the enemy.
JUST BLOW UP ANYTHING IN YOUR WAY NO MATTER WHAT IT IS.
becasue of this very scientific doctrine of warfare there are many of us who are ill because we just blew up artillery batteries and tanks which had chemical muitions and of course it blew on us in low levels.
If Bush is correct and Sadaam still has WMDS in Baghdad and we use this very scientific method may God Forgive us as the Iraqi people die in the worst tragedy since the bombing of Dresden duriing World War II.
I hate Saddam Huseein and I hate what he has done to the Kurds and his own people. And I beleive we need to end this , but not in tragedy.

In case you didn't know....
In addition to not doing anything to protect Kurdish civilians:
-The United States and British supported and provided arms, aerials, and weapons of mass destruction for Saddaam Hussein and Iraqi Governmen
We protestors see war as a last resort, because the effects will be much more devestating than probably anything witnessed this decade. How many innocent Iraqi and other minorites in Iraq, will fall victim to U.S weapons and bombs?

"You are a bunch of hippies!!!"
no. in fact today's anti-war movement is very diverse. by a conservative estimate around half the country opposes the war.
"I hate hippies!!"
this is silly. you should try to develop a world view that allows you to recognize what is important and what is trivial.
"you must DIE!!!!!"
no. there is no reason i or anyone else MUST die right now. eventually, yes we are all mortal.
"stop smoking pot youbunch of pot heads!!!!"
a large percentage of people in the USA do smoke pot occasionally. many people SHOULD cut back on their pot smoking, but it isn't necessary to stop altogether unless you don't like it.
"FUCK YOU, YOU BUNCH OF SHITTACULAR HIPPIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
again, the peace movemnt is very diverse, not just hippies. but all the same....
fuck you too.
