Several hundrend children may come to the rally this weekend. Also, a huge delegation of the elderly will be present. For the sake of them, I ask all people involved in any civil disobedience to restrict their actions to those that will not jeopardise the lives of these protesters. We desperately need to avoid confrontation on a violent or vandalist level. I'm not saying that civil disobedience is wrong, but if we're talking about the good of the whole movement, we definately don't need an excuse for the cops to treat us worse. Plan your actions carefully and respectfully, remember, there is a whole movement of people you will be representing. Artistic representation of will to peace is always welcome, but violence and vandalism is not.

... remember, while YOU understand the urgency of the situation, most Americans are either fence sitters or have no idea what is actually going on.

Your militant actions are designed to reach who? This Saturday untold THOUSANDS of people will attend their VERY FIRST demonstration against war. They are entering the terrain of protest as individuals who know little about the complexities of imperialism... and those who are oppossed to it.

PLEASE... be creative with your "break away" action, but DON'T ENGAGE IN VIOLENCE OR PROPERTY DESTRUCTION. We need to build and grow this movement... not alienate and isolate it.
