As the Bush Administration’s Brief for War falls apart like a cheap suit in a rain storm Ari Four-flusher is busy SPINNING (lying) as hard as he can. Tony Blair is now looking at a walk up to Parliament to explain why he was lying to them and the mainstream press is busily ignoring the story as much as they can.
The story here is clear. The moral midgets at No. 10 Downing Street and 1600 Pennsylvania avenue have again been exposed for the craven liars that they are. This time they provided the proof. How thoughtful. So, we have Colin Powell’s Brief for War now becoming one of the strongest weapons in the argument against war.

Even prior to the latest blunder by the War Hawks it would appear that elements in British Intelligence MI6 were becoming unhappy with Mr. Blair's continuing streams of half-truths and outright lies. A top secret Intelligence Document was leaked to BBC Reporter Andrew Gilligan. The document rendered MI6’s assessment that there were NO KNOWN LINKS between al-Qaeda and Saddam Hussein’s Iraq. It went on further to say that Bin Laden regard Iraq’s ruling Ba’ath party as running contrary to his religion, calling it an “apostate regime”. Gilligan said that: ”This almost unprecedented leak may be a shot across the politicians’ bows.”

 “Rather than admit that Colin Powell's presentation to the United Nations was based on a document patched together from old material, some of it predating the first Gulf War, the US has decided to play the "terrorist" gambit yet again, cranking up the terror alert level to manufacture a story that can be used to prevent the US media from carrying a story every other nations' media has already run. 

  My concern is that Bush has run out of options. Regardless if the average American learns about the latest deception shown to the UN, the UN knows, and will consequently refuse to authorize a new resolution or any military action at all. 

  Bush cannot get his war without a new terror attack. The new alert is already "warning" Americans to expect one by mid-February. Like 9-11, this event fits the already existing US timetable just a bit too conveniently.

  Should an incident happen, it is important to keep the following issues in mind.

1. Who does an act of terror inside the US help right now? Not Iraq. Iraq has proven that it wishes to avoid war. With the rush to war clearly stumbling, Iraq is not going to carry out an action whose result would be the very war Iraq does not want. Indeed when all is said and done it is the people who WANT war with Iraq who would benefit from a staged terror attack, and therefore if such an attack happens, should be the very first suspects.   

2. The last "terror attack", the Anthrax letters, traced back to a US Government biological weapons lab. Despite letters written to appear to be from semi-literate Muslims, the Anthrax in the letters was a strain available only from the US lab. One suspect, Dr. Philip Zack,  was actually caught entering the lab where the anthrax was kept after he had already been fired for harassing an Arab colleague. 

3. FOX News ran a story shortly after 9-11 in which a US Government official admitted that there is evidence linking 9-11 to someone other than Arab Muslims, but that the US Government has classified this evidence.

4. Senator Graham has admitted that there is evidence leading to a nation as the mastermind of 9-11, but that this evidence will not be made public for 20-30 years. 

5. There was no mine that sank USS Maine, starting the Spanish American war.

6.  There was no torpedo in the Gulf of Tonkin that started the Vietnam war.

I think it should be clear that the Bush Junta’s justification for this war of aggression is falling apart and support is declining as more people become aware of how tenuous the case for war is. It is based upon lies, furthered by deceptions, and is a criminal act in the making.
Given the criminal mindset of the current Junta there is no doubt in my mind that they will continue to follow their established M.O.. Don’t be taken in. Alert other people. We are at a historic crossroads in this country’s history. Either we can assert ourselves and remain free or you may bow your neck to receive the slave’s collar. The choice is yours.
