Over 200 students of LACES, an LAUSD magnet school, walked out to protest the impending war. Many other students didn't walk out but protested the war from behind the fence.

I feel like we're in a time warp...back to Viet Nam. Just like in the late 60s, the general public is oblivious about why we were invading and bombing the Vietnamese (North or South). Then, as now, the first and most to die were those not in a university, not among the "privildeged" class and not white!

As one of the organizers of this walkout we are proud of all the support we have gotten from the community and media. L.A.C.E.S and other high school across Southern California have demonstrated their views now we ask that the rest you that believe in our cause speak out. I want all high schools to organize and show your support of the Anti-war movement. If you need help contact the "Not In Our Name" organization. Our ultimate goal is unite all students and make sure that the world knows that we will not keep quite as a unjust war is pledged.

As one of the organizers of this walk out i would like to thank that for the support we got from the community and the media. Im proud that we could keep this a peaceful demonstration. L.A.C.E.S., Fairfax, Roosevelt and other highschools across Southern California have protested against the war. But we all cant rest untill everyone knows our views, and all highschools voice their ideas. If anyone hopes to organize a protest please contact the organization "Not In Our Name". We hope to unite all students and show the world we will not stand for a unjust war.

I think it is wonderful as students we are rising up to show the world we care. I dislike the fact that so many students get severely punished for standing up for their beliefs. It is a shame.

I think it's a shame that so many people who cannot:
1. Name the first President of the United States. 2. Locate Arkansas on a map of the United States. 3. Spell the word 'Suffrage' and use it correctly in conversation. 4. Pronounce the word 'Ask'.
Are permitted to participate in pro-fascist activites organized by the same people who have failed so miserably in educating them in the first place.

Thanks for reminding me of how educators use their positions of influence to brainwash children into accepting the liberal beliefs of the teacher with little to no perspective of history and the world. It makes voting against any increase in educational spending much easier.
Just as when was in school, students will take advantage of any opportunity to ditch without consequence. In my day, however, we only had one "senior ditch day" in our elementary through high school experience. These kids have learned that they can walk out on classes because parroting their teacher's views makes ditching acceptable.

So many of the so called "smart" people arent as smart as we think they are. there aren't that many kids that are eligible to go to magnet highschools but those that are sometimes arent given the right encouragement and end up going to a horrible school, therefore leaving the rich and not as smart kids going to magnet schools.
