ALERT! PRO WAR RALLY GOING ON IN SEAL BEACH THIS SAT!

by ocrc@mail.com Saturday, Feb. 01, 2003 at 6:58 AM
ocrc@mail.com ocrc@mail.com ocrc@mail.com

..

ALERT! a group called "Proud Americans" is planning a Pro-War rally for this coming Saturday Feb 1 in Seal Beach, CA.

Please show your support and say NO TO WAR if you live in Seal Beach.

The info about the protest is at http://www.proudamericans.org

Rally and March

Seal Beach CA Pier

2:30 PM, Sat. Feb 1,

Supporting our troops, our Country and our President

"War on Terrorism" Rally

Saturday, Feb 1, 2:30 PM, Seal Beach Pier, Seal Beach CA

Mission: To show strong support for our country, troops and president. To let the world know that we are strong, passionate, united, caring and generous. To give pride and emotional comfort to Americans in times of trouble, doubt and need.

No, we do not want war, but if war is what is required, so be it.

We do this through public awareness via the media, marches and rallies, printed awareness programs and one-on-one communication.

Please join us for this peaceful, silent march!

The Proud Americans Organization has organized a "War on Terrorism March".This rally and silent march will take place Saturday, Feb. 1, at 2:30 PM starting at the base of the Seal Beach Pier and walking past City Hall and to the park on Electric Ave 7 blocks away. The leaders are inviting all who take pride in American to join in showing their support for our country, our troops and our President. The group is discouraging government bashing as well as anti war protesters from attending. The group does not encourage war, but believes that if our leadership believes war is needed, it supports that war. They ask all attending to carry a small American Flag.

The group was form as a result of all the anti-war, anti-US, anti-Government, anti President events that have been getting the media's attention lately. Proud Americans (PA''s) believe there is a silent majority of people who love the U.S. and support the government and its position on Iraq and the war on terrorism. Although they do not have a Hollywood personality on board at this time, they do expect to get a few who believe in the cause, one's that are proud to be an American.

The group will remind people of some of the great things that the United States has done in its short life. Things like placing a man and flag on the moon, our involvement in the end of World War II, Desert Storm, our space program, as well as our beautiful country with places like Yosemite, Grand Canyon and Mt Rushmore to name a few. The U.S. has produced great people that have made huge discoveries to the world. We are a great nation. A proud one.

The organization believes that there is a strong silent majority of people who support this cause, but just don't have the time to make any noise because they are too busy taking care of their families and doing their jobs. We are hoping that some of these people will come out and support our cause.

Visit the Proud Americans Organizations web at www. ProudAmericans.org

If you have any questions, please contact Mike at 714-799-0032

Rally and Marching instructions / suggestions.

Please join us .for the silent, but now seen, majority of Proud Americans

Suggestions:

Please show up 30 to 60 minutes early.

Register or sign in at registration table (it?s free)

Bring a smaller flag to carry and or pick up a sign or flag at the registration desk.

Wear something patriotic if possible.

You may consider getting a T-shirt at the rally desk.

If you think you will attend, please email us so we can have some type of head count, this is not required.

Bring some friends.

Carry flag and sign respectfully.

Be considerate of other people and property.

Do not get into conversations with anti-Americans. It may turn ugly. Better off being silent.

You cannot change their minds. Just like Saddam cannot change ours. Don't try.

Walk safely, stay out of the street, and obey all signs, lights, and police. They are our friends.

Enjoy and have fun. Say a prayer for our troops, country and President.

Spread the word, gather friends for another rally.

Enjoy and respect our country and freedoms.

Our belief is simple. That the President is better suited to make decisions on National matters. He is better informed. As such, we support him in his policy. We will not be able to change anyone's mind, so we should not try. We are the silent majority. As such, by rallying and marching quietly, we are caring a big stick, (The President is behind us!). We are supporting our troops, country and President, and letting our fellow silent majority go about there business and family lives. We are proud of ourselves and our actions. We have nothing to prove, we know as much or as little as most Americans. So I suggest we march quietly, having conversations with one another. The conversations should not be loud. We should not get into any discussions with anyone disagreeing with us. It is their right to do so. Let them make a fool of themselves, not us. We want peace, but not at any price. We are respectful of all civil people.

Think about this, the anti-American protesters cannot change our minds, nor can we change theirs, no matter how much talking we do. So we remain silent but seen.

The same holds true for Saddam. No matter how much talking he does, trying to convince us that he is a great and wonderful person and has no weapons, Proud Americans have a hard time believing it.... but it does seem to work on the anti-American crowd. I suggest our position is, to a degree, the same as the peace-niks, we do not want to go to war. The difference is we support our president if war is required.

It's interesting that they describe people against the war as "anti-Americans." In my mind dissent is more "American" than blind allegiance to facists...

why

by publius Tuesday, Feb. 04, 2003 at 8:26 PM

"We will not be able to change anyone's mind, so we should not try"...if this is true, then why march? if it is to give to support, then it is, in effect, strengthening one cause, which is only pertinent if the cause is to do something.if the cause does something, then it is changing somebody's mind...either the ideals are wrong or the march is wrong

Why War?

by marc Monday, Mar. 10, 2003 at 9:32 PM
marcmode@yahoo.com

Not all the treasures of the world, so far as I believe, could have induced me to support an offensive war, for I think it murder; but if a thief breaks into my house, burns and destroys my property, and kills or threatens to kill me, or those that are in it, and to 'bind me in all cases whatsoever' to his absolute will,

am I to suffer it?" --

Concerned that your fellow Americans are too narrow minded to understand the unfortunate yet pressing need for a regime change in Iraq?

Apprehensive that American lives and resources are at risk but are more concerned about a future with Saddam still in control of Iraq?

SO AM I!!

Let's support our President and the Armed Forces who defend our liberty. Do it for posterity..so that all future generations may be aware of the sacrifices we made for their freedom, just as all the past generations have done for us!

If you're saying we shouldn't be stealing Iraq's oil, I'm all for you.

I certainly am not going to support our pResident who's starting World War III.

I agree, let's support our troops by not having them fight and die in an unnecessary, immoral, dangerous war of choice, which is a very, very bad choice.

Support our trooops-BRING THEM HOME NOW !

Because your "Movement" is led by leftist anarchists like "Ben Seatle" - who wants to overthrow the U.S. government:

So, Circus Maximus - you are a one trick pony - find a leftist kook against the war and pretend that is the only opposition to the Bush Junta.

So, transparently false, so transparently propaganda.

Do you get paid by word, line, or paragraph? Or do you have a GS Rating?

by Judi Monday, Mar. 24, 2003 at 3:27 AM

I believe in this country and the men and women who protect it! I understand that there are different takes on the whole war issue. I must say that I am for the removal of Saddam. That is my oppinion,.I also believe that the men and women who protect our country do so, no questions asked. They are willing to die for us tomarrow, leave families behind and all we can do is throw their sacrifice back into their faces. Support your troops. If their home great but they aren't, they are fighting and dieing for US!!!!!! Take a moment and remember that while you sit at home, protest, go to class or sleep soundly in your bed at night. Someone, regardless of your poletical views, is out there protecting you so that you can enjoy your life, terror free. I'm sure not every service member agrees with war but damn it, they still go, they still fight and they still protect us. So if you are Anti-war and you're at an Anti-war protest, why not dedicate a small corner of your poster to say thank you to the troops who are making it possible for you to be there protesting!

War has never solved anything...except, Nazism,Facism,Slavery,Communism, etc.

I have a question for all the protestors. Where have you been?

I was in the military during the Clinton years.Where were you when we were being deployed to battlefields all over the world? (U.S. troops were sent into harm's way more than 20 times during Clinton's reign).

Where were you when I lost 2 friends on the 757 that went into the Pentagon on 9/11/01? Why weren't you protesting the MURDERERS of innocent fellow Americans, and protesting the dictatorship regimes who support and finance these terrorists? Where is Amnesty International for the Kurds and Iraqis who live in fear for their lives every day? Are they not good enough? Where were you when Clinton was bombing-for-bimbos in Bosnia?

C'mon, you don't hate war or killing. You just hate Bush...

Devil's Advocate

by JG Hunt Friday, Mar. 28, 2003 at 8:01 PM

I think most of you war protestors dont oppose war. You dont care. You only care about your own, selfish motive and you see those anti-war protests as a forum for advancing your motive, whether it be communism, socialism, (which both of those I have seen take the majority of the crowd in some cases) or some other insanely un-american ideal. And the rest of you are merely devil's advocates. You protest for the sake of protest; well guys the '60s are dead sorry to inform you. 10% and less probably support anti-war. Oh and yeah, it's not about the oil, do some research for God sake's, Iraq isnt even in the top five of oil contributors, they are number six. Hell they arent even the largest oil contributor of the middle east! If we really wanted the oil we would solve Venezuala's problem, since they do supply twice as much oil as Iraq. Inform yourselves.

YOU DON'T GET IT CJ

by WACKAPROTESTOR Friday, Mar. 28, 2003 at 8:20 PM

CJ you miss the protestors point. They are mad about the murderors at the WTC. They believe the real killers were the CIA and the Bush administration. They do not blame the islamic terrorists they blame the USA. Hence their hatred of the government which they believe was put in power by rigged elections.

Never mind that the chad counters were two democrats out voting one republican or that the "problems" arose in democratically controled precincts in Florida while Gore could not even carry his home state.

It was all republicam plot to install a dictator. You can't argue with their logic. Its true Clintons home state went for bush but that was rigged. It's true that this country has used the electoral college to elect presidents since it's begining but Gore won the popular vote so they would change the rules in the middle of the game.

It's true the last election confirmed the majority of americans elected a Republican majority in the Senate and Congress but those elections were rigged also.

The only election that was fair in the last 16 years was the election of the messianic W. J. Clinton amen>

You have been scammed by the Republican party right wing again. Geeeeeeeeez!!!! Get real.

we live in this beautiful country, the free, the proud, and the brave. To continue that freedom, we must protect that. If the next door neighbor was kicking in your son's teeth in front of you, would you let your other neighbor tell you it was wrong to retaliate because they didn't see it first hand? No damn it! You would kick their ass, just like our boys and girls are doing right not to protect us...........SUPPORT YOUR PROTECTORS!!!!
