It is truly confusing. I mean, Israel, a country more repressive than Hitler's Germany, Stalin's Russia, Mao's China and Bush's America combined has an IndyMedia site. At least the Israelis and their Palestinian in Israeli controlled Eastern Jersulam have the ability to disseminate information thru IndyMedia in the hopes of eventually removing the tyranical yoke of Zionazism from their midst.

But why don't other Middle Eastern States have an Indy Media site. I don't know who is in charge of creating new sites (do you need contacts in the area) but I recently noticed sites going up in places as diverse as Idaho and Jakarta....so why no sites in Sudan (which has a terrible problem with Arabs indenturing Black Slaves), Lebanon (which after 20 years of Israeli occupation is now a vassal state of Lebanon) and most importantly Saudi Arabia (I hear they have a terrible Women's rights record.

I urge IMCers to immediately petittion IMC to start forumlating IMC sites in these countries....don't these people have ideas to share with us. It should not just be our place to dictate to them what is right for them.

I hereby demand that IMC get in touch with media representatives in the Middle East and form a coalition of middle eastern Independent Media Centers, I think it could breed great success and would finally get rid of the Zionist hegemony over the region's media (kind of sounds like the US, no?)

Israel may be fucked up, but it does have a nominally free press. What is the state of free presses in the other middle eastern countries?

IMC's don't hapen without local people springing up and saying "I want to start one." If you know people in middle eastern countries who want to start an IMC, give them the idea and the website. They can get things rolling.

Just because Israel and America seem to be run by facists, doesn't mean the people are not intelligent and free spirited. In fact, Jews were among the few to march with MLK, Jews suffered under Hitler, and it is really gross that you imply a people to be judged by their stupid governments actions. I for one am a proud Israeli and American who is intelligent enough to know the truth. I know it's not Jews or Arabs or any other stupid freakin sweeping biggoted generalized idea of a group that causes the problem. The problem is that the U.S. war machine makes money off of conflict, and my family and any Arab family that get's in the way is just f--ed. And soon you will see, that name calling makes you look stupid, and doesn't solve problems. If you really care, go to Egypt or any other one of those countries where they don't usually even have running water and do something about it, otherwise don't blast people for others inadequacy. Be a part of the sollution not the racist problem.

Where do you learn retarted phrases like Zionist Hegemony and how can you compare Stalin who murdered 20 million and Hitler who murdered 12 to anyone currently alive? You know, when you go too far in any direction ( left or right ) you deligitimize any chance of finding a middle ground and solving a problem. I was witness to a time when Arabs and Israeli's had a chance for peace and lived relatively peaceful existences before this Intifada. Both sides are wrong, both have to share, just cause one side has better weapons, doesn't mean it has used them more. At last count there were virtually equal amounts of death on both sides, give or take a few hundred. When you come to me with evidence of millions, I'll stop calling you an idiot. Otherwise, why don't you let rational and informed people discuss the middle east, cause your kind of talk only leads to more hatred.
