Michel Chossudovsky: The 911 Commission, War And The Criminal State // AUDIO MP3

Guns And Butter Radio: Michel Chossudovsky Interview: “The 911 Commission, War And The Criminal State”; mp3 files

Professor Michel Chossudovsky was interviewed by the Guns and Butter radio team for a show that was broadcast today on KPFA.  The focus is the ramp-up to war on Iraq, and his call for people to examine the contradictions and evidence demonstrating that "the war rhetoric is a pack of lies."  In his view, the ultimate weakness of the Bush administration is the magnitude of the lies told about 9-11 and the justifications for the so-called war on terrorism.

Here's an excerpt to give you a sample (about 22 minutes into the program):

"We have evidence of collaboration between CIA operatives on the one hand, and al-Qaeda on the other, right up to August, 2001.  We have evidence of links between senior Bush (administration) officials and the head of Pakistan's military intelligence.  While we also have evidence, which is supported by the FBI report that the head of Pakistan's intelligence channeled money through a third party to the 9-11 terrorists.  So all this... I'm not suggesting by any means that the Bush administration is behind 9-11.  What I am suggesting is that there's a whole set of linkages between Bush (administration) officials and Pakistan's Interservices Intelligence (ISI), (linkages between) Bush officials and al-Qaeda which have to be investigated because thousands of people are arrested on trumped-up charges, on the other hand, we have a whole series of high ranking individuals who have proven links -- suspicious links -- which points to possible complicity to 9-11, and simply, that is not being investigated.  And we have evidence now of the stonewalling which took place in the FBI....."

Give it a listen and check out articles at the Centre for Research on Globalisation website.  It's food for thought.  I don't agree with everything he notes, but it's defiantly worth checking out as a way to form your own view.

I have uploaded a large file for higher bandwidth connections, and a much smaller mp3 file that has marginal audio quality -- but good enough to listen to and perfect for those on dial-up.

Michel Chossudovsky is a professor of economics at the University of Ottawa.  He's also the director of the Centre for Research on Globalisation.  He's a vocal critic of globalization and the Bush administration.

If you appreciate Guns and Butter, support them.  Buy a CD from them and spread the word about the program (always on KPFA at 2 pm Pacific Wednesdays, and you can get it via web streaming).  Guns And Butter has many programs in their archive.  The producers don't make much of anything working for KPFA -- one of Pacifica's community radio stations.

The attached mp3 files are strictly for non-profit use only.
