Because the war is unjust, illegal and immoral. Because the social conditions
facing our people have not improved since the War in VietNam. Because hospitals are being closed, because there is a lack of affordable housing,
because there is a lack of jobs, because more money is being spent on the war than on education in our communities. Because our struggle for
self-determination continues!

I'm all down with having some sort of anti-war protest in L.A., but does it always have to be about "la raza" or something like that. Why this constant singleing out of ourselves? I would hope we would go beyond the ridiculous Chicano Nationalism of the 60's & 70's. Nationalism whether "American," or Chicano is ridiculous because they both follow the same train of thought "my people before other people."
It's time to move to bigger and better things, like real liberation, not "nation-builiding". I myself am a Chicano, and I personally find no pride in calling myself "Raza", or my fellow chicana/os "raza." I mean we're not a "race," since we all know "race" doesn't exist. So why continue with this idiocracy? It doesn't make sense at all.
And they are more than just "raza" in east L.A., so you're just dividing more than uniting. Let's just say the folks of East L.A. instead. How about it?
