Henry Kissinger and Shimon Peres will be in Los Angeles on Monday, Jan. 13th, to speak at the Universal City Amphitheater. A protest has been organized to call for Justice in Palestine and to express opposition to a war against Iraq.

On Monday, January 13, 2003, the International
A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition will join many other groups to
protest Henry Kissinger and Shimon Peres in Los Angeles. Both Kissinger and Peres are speaking on Monday, January 13, at the Universal Amphitheater, on the Universal Studios lot.

Please join the protest with signs, banners, placards,
etc. to show Kissinger and Peres that unbridled militarism and crimes against humanity will not go unpunished! Express solidarity with the struggle of the Palestinian people for justice and self-determination.

Monday, January 13, 2003
From 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Universal Studios. Gather at the corner of Lankershim Blvd. and the entrance to Universal Studios on the sidewalk closest to Universal's entrance.

Getting there:

From Hollywood, take the Hollywood (101) Freeway north to the Lankershim Blvd. offramp. Go east (right) on Lankershim Boulevard one block to the Universal entrance.

From Santa Monica: Take the 10 Santa Monica Freeway East to the 405 Freeway North. Exit to the 101 Ventura Freeway East/South. (Signs to Los Angeles.) Continue on the 101 Freeway and exit on Lankershim Blvd. Turn right and follow the signs to Universal Studios.

From Burbank, Glendale, and Pasadena: Take the 134 Freeway West and exit at Cahuenga Blvd. Turn left and head South on Cahuenga. Cahuenga will dead-end at Lankershim Blvd. Turn Left on Lankershim and follow the signs to Universal Studios.

Parking: Street parking on Cahuenga and Lankershim.
Lot parking in Universal Studios -- $8.00

Why We MUST Protest:
Henry Kissinger: Kissinger is an unrepentant
warmonger who bears responsibility for much bloodshed throughout the world. His crimes on behalf of the U.S. government against millions of poor and innocent people are too many to mention in one e-mail. A brief synopsis:

Vietnam & Cambodia: During his tenure as U.S. National Security Advisor, and later as Secretary of State, Kissinger was the architect of Nixon's war on Vietnam; he oversaw the secret bombing of Cambodia.

Chile: Kissinger oversaw the CIA-assisted coup, which ousted the democratically elected government of Salvador Allende and installed the murderous dictator Augusto Pinochet.

East Timor: Kissinger and Gerald Ford gave Indonesia the green-light to invade East Timor in 1975, resulting in the massacre of 200,000 East Timorese (over 1/3 of the population).

The list goes on and on.

Shimon Peres: Former Israeli Prime Minister and current Foreign Minister in the Sharon government, Shimon Peres supports (and has always supported) Israel's brutal and illegal occupation of Palestinian land and suppression and murder of Palestinian people. Like Kissinger, Peres is a war criminal.

The Butcher of Qana: While Prime Minister in 1996, Peres masterminded a massive Israeli bombing campaign in Lebanon, including the bombing of a UN peacekeeping base in the village of Qana where several hundred Palestinian refugees took shelter. The Israeli bombs massacred 102 Palestinians and injured more than 120 others.
