These photos do not give a sense of the huge crowd that gathered on the corners of Hollywood and Highland. Channel 7 television news reported that 2,000 people demonstrated. What was really inspiring however was the OVERWHELMING positive response from the tens of thousands of motorists who drove by. People widely honked their car horns in approval. At times the sound was deafening. By the end of the evening I had a splitting headache from all the car horn noise!

Don't let anyone fool you.... the people do not want this war.

I saw the usual suspects at the demo, but the majority were new faces... young and old, black and white... every color of the rainbow. People had gone out to shop or see movies but ended up joining the demonstration instead. It was a remarkable event. The area is well known for the thousands of tourists who come to see Hollywood... even they were drawn into the protest, and everywhere people were engaged in sidewalk debates.

It should also be noted that the ANSWER and NOT IN OUR NAME groups helped to organize the event. They should be congratulated for pulling off a terrific demonstration!
