The article about disinformation by the United Capitalist Front on Indymedia confirms what I have long suspected. Read Ward Churchill and Jim Vander Wall's book about Cointelpro called Agents of Repression. All these tactics have been tried before on the Black Panther Party and the American Indian Movement with great success unfortunately. Defaming the reputation of people like Ramsey Clark and John Pilger is a tactic called bad-jacketing and was used with success in Cointelpro against Black Panther leaders. Steering the discussion away from a radical analysis of capitalism and imperialism towards mistakes or a few bad people would be another tactic. Pretend you are leftist but take the discussion in a rightward direction. Leftists need to learn lessons from Cointelpro because the tactics they use to foment coups in places like Chile or Venezuela are also tactics employed against the left in the United States.
