This is a poem for the Anti-war movement.
Terror, in the eyes of our country. Destruction and desperation is the way of the world. Too many people involved, to evolve and to change. We’re all waiting for something.
Big brother’s got his hand on our shoulder, whispers in our ear. It’ll be all right, we’ll win this fight, all I need is your children. And they’ll sing WAR! Oh God.
People screamin’, bodies bleedin’. People hating, anticipating when it’s all gonna crumble. We felt the destruction from the heart of NYC, devastation spreading like an infectious disease. So now we’re all affected, all infected, but G.W’s got the cure. Guns a blazing, fists a raising, haven’t we been through all this before? Well he’s wrong but so are they so we’ll all yell WAR! Oh God.
Using bodies as bombs, it’s nothin new. Demolition of the mind is the thing to do. Put your finger on the button; let’s just start all over. Maybe we’ll get it right next time. Our will, our minds, what powerful arms. Too bad we don’t do good to try to wipe out all the harm.
Wait till we see when the dust cloud settles. Dirty faces, rubble, metal. Bodies and limbs aren’t where they’re supposed to be. But we, we only see what the media puts on TV. The government only shows us what they think that we can handle. To escape into oblivion we just have to change the channel. So go ahead and rally cause it’s not at your back door. They’re damned, join hands, and everybody scream WAR! Oh God.
