Our mascot protest will take place Tuesday, September 10 at 5 PM at the Fullerton Joint Union High School District Board of Trustees meeting.

We will protest at the corner of Euclid and Bastanchury from 5-7:30. At 7:30, we will enter the meeting to speak with the Board about removal of the Fullerton "Indian" and Sonora's Zapata mascot. The Board meeting takes place at the District Education Center Board Room, located at 1051 W. Bastanchury Rd. in Fullerton, at the corner of Euclid and Bastanchury.

We need to rid all institutions of these insidious mascots. I, for one, would be ashamed and disgusted if I was a "Zapatista", or an "Indian". What kind of pride could I take from that? The names should be changed to something worthwile, for example, "Vikings", "Celts", "Gauls", etc.. In other words, names that reflect a worthy culture or image, unlike now, where the image is of shiftless, dirty people who've never actually accomplished anything, and whose only aim is to destroy, drink, and breed like cockroaches, or, more appropriately, la cucaracha.

Don't you have anything better to do, than to jump on indymedia and try to discredit our cause? It is bad enough that you insult us by continuing to have the "Indian" and "Zapata's Raiders" in your schools, but to make an illogical post here? That is just inexcusable. See you at the meeting.

Apparently, you've never been insulted. But you are correct about one thing: OUR schools. Not zapata's, not the indian's, not mejico's. Understand, compadre?

What's inexcusable is that an AMERICAN school would have some beaner as a mascot. I won't be at your meeting, however. I work, you see, so I can pay taxes to help subsidize all scum that continues to illegally slime their way across the border on a daily basis.
