The skinny on what went down: 1. Hundreds gathered at Green's rally on Thursday. 2. Thousands (2000-3000) marched on downtown to Shrub's hotel. 3. Police were intimidated by the numbers, ordered the crowd to disperse. 4. Police began pepper-spraying the demonstrators, including a father and his children (confirmed despite skeptics who are trying to dispel this story as a "myth"--what would you expect when the police are guilty of malfeasance). 5. Despite injuries from rubber bullets and pepper spray, as well as being routed by fascists in riot gear, Portland residents were very happy with what was accomplished (making their issues known and giving Bush a very public middle finger) and celebrated in the streets on into the evening. 6. Portland's Peaceful Protest Committee is now looking into police excesses in the demonstrations. (please visit the site for more) Ok, LA !!! Its our turn!!! Let's show up something!!!!! Be there 7AM Westwood and Whilshire! No War in Iraq! No More Defense Spending! No More Despoiling of the Environment! No More Corporate Crime!!! No More Crooker Elections!!!!!! No More Bush!!!!!!!!
