BOYCOTT TACO BELL THIS FRIDAY!!

****PLEASE REDISTRIBUTE!****

PEACEFUL/NON-VIOLENT PROTEST!!

Join hundreds of Junior High and High School youth in protesting Taco Bell!

Demand that Taco Bell tomato pickers are paid a living wage!

This summer, hundreds of Junior High and High School youth are converging on Orange County for a social justice summer camp. As part of their camp, they are organizing a protest at Taco Bell's corporate headquarters in Irvine.

Join these youth in calling for a living wage for Taco Bell tomato pickers!

When: Friday, June 28, 3-6p.m.

Where: Taco Bell Corporate Headquarters
17901 Von Karman (at Main) in Irvine
Take the 405 Exit McArthur go RIGHT
Make another RIGHT on MAIN, and another RIGHT on Von Karmen

If you can't make it on Friday call 1-800-TacoBell and demand living wages for farm workers.

Why: By contracting for cheap tomatoes grown and picked by farmworkers paid sub-poverty wages in Florida, Taco Bell contributes significantly to the continued misery of farmworkers and their families. Taco Bell tomato pickers are still earning the same wages they earned twenty years ago, and the median income of farmworkers in Florida, where Taco Bell's tomatoes are harvested, is only $7,500. Taco Bell tomato pickers are only asking for a one cent per pound raise. The large corporations that buy Florida tomatoes must step up to their responsibility by demanding, and obtaining, changes in the shameful pay and working conditions suffered by the men and women who pick their tomatoes.

Join youth in calling for fair wages for Taco Bell tomato pickers!

A Voice of Strength

by Sean Stevens Saturday, Jun. 29, 2002 at 12:55 PM
TheUnsean@netscape.net

I would like to build up hope from my concession of this piece of truth. I am young, only 15 years of age, but I am relentless to admit to the wrong doings of this nation. As a common dissident of society, I too diagree with any action taken with violence. The mind of leadership, amazingly, is still reluctant to the ways of the past, that consiquently are the ways of today. Let's open the eyes our world to prevent these ways to cause the suffer of tomarrow. As a common, living, breathing, creature...I feel the pain and suffer for all of humankind- not just for those within my same borders of labeled citizenship and existence. Maybe, I still have alot to learn, but not from things that i've already gained knowledge and awareness about. War does not, and will never create peace. " We are all human, and it's time to prove it "-Justin Sane. Peace to us all.
Learn from the past and the future will prevail. Thanks for listening. One voice can be a voice of strength.
