Bush got his rejection in full voice by 1,000 protesters. See: http://www.jerusalem.indymedia.org/news/2002/04/23019.php
The article states:
One Thousand or more show up in L.A. to protest Bush presence!

Bush is receiving a not-so-warm welcome from The People of Los Angeles.
-Palestinian flags wave outside the city center.
-Citizens raise signs displaying
\\"The media is full of Bu$HiT\\"
\\"End zionist aparthied\\"
\\"Solidarity with Palestine\\"
and on and on.
Bush, you are not welcome here you hypocrite.

I would add that he only got 32% of the vote in Los Angeles County. When he comes north tomorrow, 4/30, he is going to find out what it is really like to be in the minority. San Francisco gave him 16% of the vote, and the neighboring counties of Alameda, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Sonoma, and Marin gave him less than 35% of the vote. Contra Costa gave him only 37% of the vote and in in the more workingclass western Contra Costa (City of Richmond), you can be sure it was like San Francisco. There was only about 150-300 people there. Please don't exaggerate the turnout. You'll make people think they don't need to get involved.
Yes there were 800 to 1000 protestors AT PEAK which occured at about 5:30, or so. The attendance gradually tapered after that time. I suggest carrying out a head-count and you will be amazed as how many persons there are in a densely packed crowd, such as the one that greeted shrub.
