UPDATES on MAX and RAMPAGE'S arraignment

by rtf Wednesday, Apr. 24, 2002 at 11:18 PM

.

Hello everyone,

A good friend Jeff was arrested in the court room at Rampage's arraignment for speaking out to show support. After he was arrested me and another person were told to leave the courthouse otherwise we'd be arrested for trespassing. The deputy's also forced another person out who was in no way associated with us. Jeff is being charged with contempt of court and unlawful talking to inmates.. His arraignment is this thurs. I don't know the exact time so I'll be there at Fullerton court 8:30am to wait around and see.

As for rampage, he is being charged with 5 felony's. The charges are possession of an explosive, the use of an explosive, and I believe the rest are, possession of ingredients to make an explosive, intent to harm, and some warrants. Rampage requested that his arraignment be put off for another 3 weeks so legal preparation could be done on his behalf. The judge said okay but raised his bail from $50,000 up to $100,000. We will soon have a copy of the police report regarding rampage.

As for Max, I believe he is only being charged with possession of explosive. He has an attorney. He's a minor so he's under juvenal law which is an entirely different system.

For more information and/or questions/donations to the legal fund you can call the LB infoshop at 562-434-6934

My observations

by end police fascism Thursday, Apr. 25, 2002 at 10:13 AM

Rampage is being charged with 5 felonies, which is way more than is needed to lock someone up for life under three strikes, and he is just around 20 years old. And what has Rampage done that warrants life in prison? Apparently carrying around a spare gas can in case a car runs out of gas.

Rampage is also being charged with use of an explosive? It's funny we haven't heard anywhere in the sensationalistic media about someone setting off a bomb or whatever it is he's supposedly done. That's the sort of story the media would be all over. In addition, if he was pulled over in the car, and after it was searched he was given the charges, then when exactly did he supposedly use the supposed explosive? Are they charging him with lighting a cigarette or something like that, because that's the only thing I can imagine they could use in these trumped-up charges.

It looks as if Rampage could become the Geronimo Pratt of this generation -- locked up for life on trumped-up lies and fascist bullshit! This time though, we need to make sure that he isn't falsely held for decades like Pratt was, or like Mumia is right now. It's my opinion that we need to come up with better ways to free ALL the political prisoners who are being unjustly held.

Now the police state has made it illegal to observe a public trial, so they can bullshit and lie and make sure Rampage is locked up for life.

I say fuck all that bullshit! We need to free Rampage and Max and Jeff! Carrying around a spare gas can is not a fucking crime! Attending a court hearing is not a fucking crime!
