probably this is already being done/organized, but what if people with free time and the ability to stomach it applied to work at McD's in a concerted, organized effort to help workers organize. is that a good idea? lame? old idea/tactic that goes without saying?
I think it would be an excellent idea if labor organizers get themselves hired on to help organize from the inside. In fact this is done quite often, so often that employers sometimes hire firms to 'research' prospective employes to weed out the agitators. Typically it is labor organizers who do this and once they become know you can bet their name ends up on a list somewhere. As for myself, such a task really tests the limits of my commitment. I mean, i'm all for social justice and everthing but don't ask me to suffer through a day behind the counter at McD's! Please!
