If America is to bomb people based on evilness, we should be bombing Sharon and not the less evil Saddam. A few facts to illustrated this distinction should help the crucial war against terrorism.
1. Sharon cost the U.S. taxpayers .000.000.000 a year. Saddam cost us nothing.
2. Sharon is against UN inspections of his weapons of mass destruction under any circumstance. Saddam has offered to have inspectors in Iraq, if Israel would do the same.
3. Sharon occupies another country in violation of UN laws. Saddam does not do that.
4. Sharon has bulldozed thousands of Palestinian homes, Saddam has not done anything like that.
5. Sharon has destroyed thousands of Palestinian grape and fruit trees, Saddam has never done that.
6. Sharon uses death squads to kill opponents in occupied territory in violation of Geneva Convention. Saddam does not do that.
7. Sharon has his military shoot at ambulances and hospitals. Saddam does not do that.
8. Sharon military shoots pregnant women on way to hospitals. Saddam does not allow that.
9. Sharon uses a policy of ethnic cleansing against Palestinians. Saddam does not do that.
10. Sharon is for war against any Arab/Muslim country. Saddam does not favor any war.
11. Sharon has submarines with nuclear weapons to threaten America. Saddam has no such weapons.
12. Sharon paid murderous thugs to kill 2,000 unarmed children, woman and elderly at Sabra and Chatila in 1982. Saddam does not pay others to do his killings.
13. Sharon artillery targeted hundreds of unarmed civilians at the Qana UN compound in 1996. Saddam has never targeted and killed children and women in a UN camp.
14. Sharon is against Camp David, Oslo and Mitchell. Saddam is not.
I hope that readers will contact their representative in Washington, and request actioon on this urgent matter. Our pin-point, accurate and humanitarian bombing could take out all Israeli military assets and infrastructure without the killing of any civilians.
We could pay Palestinian freedom fighters for the ground-war cleanup and this would insure a low, acceptable American body count. Importantly, one less rogue nuclear country, would make the entire world a more secure place for our children and grandchildren.

Lets Examine this article point by point. I must also make the point that Israel is a parliamentary democracy, unlike Iraq, which is a dictatorship. I am not a fan of Israel (or any nation/state for that matter), but lets call a spade a spade… a parliamentary democracy is a hell of a lot better than a dictatorship. I am just pointing out the other side of the argument. It is also foolish to equate a nation with one individual, especially if that individual was not in power during certain times. Please forgive any spelling mistakes on my part. I can’t spell for crap.
1) Sharon costs U.S. taxpayers nothing, the Israeli state does. Also, most Israelis' are against U.S. aid to Israel. Look at polls in Ha'aretz, the most syndicated paper in Israel, which is also a Center/Right paper. If you know anything about Israeli politics, you know that the Right is usually in favor of U.S. aid thus, even the Right wing papers admit that the majority of Israelis are against U.S. aid.
2) Saddam has no right to demand anything from Israel. If you remember in the Gulf War, he targeted and launched SCUD missiles at Israeli civilian structures. I also remember vividly the mass distribution of gas masks in Israel due to Saddam's threats of using chemical warfare. Israel poses no threat to the U.N. due to its lack of a history in using weapons of mass destruction. Saddam has used weapons of mass destruction against his own people... remember the Kurds.
3)"What country has Israel currently occupied" I must ask. It gave the Sinai Peninsula back to Egypt, and it has pulled out of Lebanon. If you are referring to the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, I point to two separate instances. If you recall back to the peace talks (more like non-aggression pacts) between Egypt and Israel, Egypt didn’t want the Gaza Strip back. Jordan also refused to take back the West Bank in their peace talks with Israel less than 10 years ago. Now if you were referring to the Golan Heights, when Syria controlled them, they would bomb Israeli civilian infrastructures constantly. They are also the only nation that will not sign a non-aggression pact with Israel in return for land. So to put it mildly, Syria can go fuck itself.
4) While Israel has bulldozed some civilian homes, Saddam has killed tens of thousands of Kurds... if not hundreds of thousands. Now tell me what’s the lesser evil.
5) Trees?! Trees are the least of concern regarding the current situation. Anyways, how many Palestinians live in Iraq. It might be difficult for Saddam to destroy stuff that belongs to people he does not rule over.
6) Your right, Israel may have used some death squad style tactics, but on known global terrorists. On the other hand, Saddam just does it openly with his military and kills many more as well.
7) Saddam denies his people any real medical attention. As he resides in a virtual palace, his people squabble for anything they can get. Israel has socialized medical attention for all its citizens. It also gives money to the Palestinian Authority for this purpose. Take a guess at where that money is going (can someone say corruption?).
8)Saddam has killed many pregnant women (they just happen to be Kurds). Maybe they were not on their way to the hospital, but you can thank the U.S. for destroying them in 1991. Oh don’t forget the fact that Saddam has contributed very little money to the rebuilding of Iraq.
9) Saddam doesn't use a policy of ethnic cleansing against Palestinians, just Kurds (sic). Also, I hardly consider between 2000 and 3000 dead ethnic cleansing. If Israel wanted to actually commit genocide against the Palestinians, it can be pretty much assumed that the Palestinians would be dead by now. Hell, just looks at Israel’s resources.
10) “Saddam doesn't favor war”? HAH! Last time I checked he invaded Kuwait and attacked Israel with SCUD missiles. Those seem like acts of war to me. Israel has also tried numerous times to make a lasting peace with its Arab neighbors.
11) Saddam has no such weapons thanks to Israel's attack of Iraqi nuclear facilities under Menachim Began. Also, Israel has yet to threaten the U.S. or any of the U.S.'s allies with weapons of mass destruction, especially nuclear ones.
12) While Sharon did commit this atrocity (and he is a bastard for it) I would like to reference you back to the actions committed by Saddam against the Kurdish people.
13) Correct. Sharon did attack civilians in a U.N. Camp, but Saddam has killed many more people, thus making him more evil. Since the point of the original article was to say how immoral Sharon is compared to Saddam, I just thought it would be nice to point that little factoid out.
14) Saddam has nothing to do with those accords. And Sharon is not against them; he just wants the Palestinian leaders to live up to their end of the bargain. It was outlined in 2 of 3 of those plans that the terrorism conducted by Palestinian groups was to cease.
Oh, by the way, I think its wise not to refer to people who's aim is to kill civilians as "freedom fighters". I would to reiterate the point that I am against all governments (as I am an anarchist). It just pisses me off that people are stupid, ignorant by choice, or just hide the facts from others for their personal gain or to strengthen their movement.
What the hell is up with Rene. His "the enemy of the US is my hero" politics is total bullshit.
What next? "Satan rocks"?
This anti-hero worship is just a simple inversion of hero worship, and is just as fucked up.
It leads people not only to do things like support Saddam (or Sharon for that matter), but it leads people to *want* stupid behavior in oppressed people. They want their minorities to be angry nationalists. Their women have to be mean lesbian bitches. Maybe they like their white guys to be white power nazis, too. (Think about it.)
Advocating for continued fighting and murder is a dead end, literally. These power games by the powerful end up killing pawns like us, who only have small websites on which to express our opinions.
