Political differences are subsumed by my over-riding hatred of the tactics used by George Bush's and John Ashcroft's budding police state. I have reached agreement to host the website Raisethefist.com
White Challenges FBI On USA PATRIOT ACT Will Host Website Shut Down For Terrorism In LA February 1, 2002 Contact: Bill White dhyphen@yahoo.com Sherman Austin iaatp@yahoo.com Washington, DC -- Bill White, editor and publisher of the website Overthrow.com, and independent candidate for state legislature in Maryland's District 39, has reached agreement to host the website RaiseTheFist.com -- a website shut down in a raid by federal agents two weeks ago in Los Angeles on accusations of violating the USA PATRIOT act by publishing bomb-making material. Stating that he was going to "Raise The First Amendment for RaiseTheFist", White told press today that the Supreme Court has repeatedly ruled that the publication of information on the manufacture of explosive devices is a Constitutionally protected right under the First Amendment, and that neither George Bush, John Ashcroft, or the United States Congress had the right or the authority to usurp the United States Constitution. "Agent Matthew McLaughlin of the FBI has claimed that Sherman [webmaster of RaiseTheFist] was 'calling people to action to violently overthrow the Constitution of the United States'. Let me make clear that it is the FBI and the secret police state who have already violently overthrown the Constitution of the United States, and that I may not be able to stop the gears of their hate machine from rolling over the liberties of the people, but I will do everything necessary -- even if it means throwing myself on the gears of that machine -- to gum it up and bring it to a grinding halt." Sherman Martin Austin, webmaster of RaiseTheFist.com, has not been charged with a crime but has admitted in interview with the Washington Post's NewsBytes that he has engaged in hacking, which is a separate act from those the FBI has threatened to charge him with. White is hoping the website will be set up to be transferred by the end of next week.

Great, Bill White (with many neo-nazi ties) to host it. Geez, sherman, surely you could've found something else.

Is there any proof of these allegation? (Not that I'm saying your wrong but it would help if you had proof that Bill White has neo-nazi ties).

I agree now. I just looked around the internet at Bill Whites history and he looks to me like a Nazi sympathizer, and definitley anti-semitic. Hopefully this guy THINKS he is going to host the website. I don't think Sherman is that stupid. This guy claims to be a anarchist, and started the Utopian Anarchist Party. What a insult!

geez, if it isn't infoshop, it's imc.. just criticism for sherman austin, no support, huh? can YOU, k, find him someone else to host his site? considering the FBI, NSA, Secret Service and who knows who else is pretty much on his butt, i doubt he has the time to really research that-- why don't you do that? no, too busy criticising and feeling superior, i guess. typical.

So, you feel that instead of spending a little more time looking around for a possible host, he should just jump at the first opportunity that presents itself, regardless of the source?
Look, I'll be the first to admit that I am not a raisethefist regular in any sense of the word -- in fact, I couldn't say for sure whether I had ever been there before this all came down. Furthermore, I don't know Sherman, I don't know Bill White, and no, I don't have a solution for hosting raisethefist. I am an outsider to all of this.
I offer the critisism constructively, hoping that raisethefist won't get itself cornered. From what I've read on some of the raisethefist archives, and from what I've heard about it, it doesn't seem that it would want to do anything that could tie it with neonazis. Allowing Bill White to host it is questionable at the very best, regardless of White's intentions. Why would raisethefist want to trust it's future to White? Have ALL other possibilities been explored? Give it a little time.
But... it is not my decision. It is Shermans, and/or the collective he belongs to.
Just my 2-cents. -k
