Confirmation of Raisethefist.com Raid

by sf imcista Sunday, Jan. 27, 2002 at 12:15 AM

Details from raisethefist.com website raid, from SF Indymedia

INFORMATION OBTAINED BY SF INDYMEDIA

FROM LOS ANGELES FBI FIELD OFFICE

http://sf.indymedia.org/news/2002/01/114474.php

On Thursday, January 24th, around 4pm, the Los Angeles FBI served a search warrant to the owner of anarchist website raisethefist.com. The search warrant was based on charges around "computer fraud and abuse" as well as "distribution of information related to explosives, destructive devices, and/or weapons of mass destruction." When asked if they had raided raisethefist.com, FBI spokesperson Cheryl Mimura from the FBI Los Angeles Field Office confirmed that it "was shut down." The warrant was served by the Los Angles Task Force on Terrorism, but the FBI denies that this warrant is related in any way to the September 11th attacks. Ms. Mimura could not confirm that law enforcement entered raisethefist.com owner's house with "machine guns, shotguns and hand guns" as reported in the original notice about this raid, found here:

confirmation

I just want to confirm that sherman was told by the 2 FBI agents conducting the team during the raid that this WAS related to S-11 .. and that the content on the site was what they were "interested in" .. but it's obvious they were interested in alot more. they have been watching him for along time now. long before the incriminating content was even posted on the site.

also, the FBI did raid the house with guns. they were heavily armed. they had sub machine guns, shot guns, and hand guns. they sorounded the house. they had FBI, secret service, lapd and lasd there. There are whiteness all in the neighborhood who saw it, including peolpe who were currently at the house.

if you want to get in contact with sherman, you can email him at food_should_be_free@yahoo.com, and messages can be relayed to him..

Thiss isn't confirmation

by Matt Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002 at 5:23 AM

This is an interesting report, but it isn't confirmation. A good reporter cites sources and produces original docusments when possible. What is the source here? Is this based on a call to the FBI? Is there an original document? Come on, y'all, you can report beetter than this. An anonymous post repeating things isn't "conirmation."

Did Sherman get arrested?

I heard Sherman was arrested, did he get arrested here in CA or was it during the WEF demonstration in NY?
