Stop Gatekeeper And The militarizatin Of The Border

Stop Gatekeeper And The militarizatin Of The Border

Companeros y Companeras

On Saturday, December 8, the Raza Rights Coalition will be establishing a permanent presence, "planton" to last until Saturday, December 15 in front of World Duty Free Shops in San Ysidro (at the pedestrian entrance to Tijuana).  the purpose of this mobilization will be to protest 7 years of Operation Gatekeeper and its sinister bottom line of over 720 migrant workers (the majority Mexican) dead due to a deliberate US Government strategy of sealing off the border zone of San Ysidro/Tijuana and forcing migrants to the mountains and deserts where they face certain death not only at the hands of the Border Patrol but of the elements.

These deaths of our brothers and sisters are made more senseless and enraging because the poverty and hunger, the misery and repression they seek to escape in coming across the Border the US imposed following the end of its expansionist war against Mexico in 1848 are caused directly by the US inspired neoliberal and globalizing economic policies.  The repression, forced disappearances, torture-the low intensity war practiced by US Puppet governments throughout Latin America ( the most prominent example being the PRI/PAN government in Mexico) are taught to these "loyal" US creations by the Pentagon, the CIA and the FBI.  Now the US seeks to victimize and treat as criminals the same people whose suffering they directly caused in the first place.  The Raza Rights Coalition, and people of conscience everywhere must lift our voices and say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!

For all these reasons, the Coalition calls on everyone to join this campaign and support us during the week of the 8th to the 15th.  We will be holding a rally at 4pm on Monday, December 10-International Human Rights Day to show the World the true face of a government that carries out genocide within its so-called borders as it pontificates about human rights to the rest of the world.  To be part of this campaign, communicate with the coalition at coalicionproderechos@hotmail.com or through this email.  Only together can we stop Gatekeeper and the militarizatin of the border.

===========================================================
