Fatah Official says Sharon wants Arafat to be another Antoin Lahd

Al-Khalil - A high-ranking Fatah official in the southern West Bank town of Hebron has warned Israel that the Palestinian people and Fatah will not accept any "Palestinian authority or leader " assuming the role of a "quisling vis-à-vis the Zionist occupiers."
"We know well that Israel would like (PA chairman Yasser) Arafat to become an Antoin Lahed (commander of the Israeli puppet South Lebanese militia known as SLA). And the Israelis know that the Palestinian people would finish any leader as such in a matter of hours or a few days," said M.Kawasmi.
Kawasmi said the Palestinian people "respect and obey their leaders who are only committed to our rights and just cause."
"If the Israelis, or for that matter the Americans, or the little Arab dictators in neighboring Arabic capitals think they can impose a leader on us, they are mistaken. It is the Palestinian people alone, and no body else, who will chose their leader. And he must say a big 'NO' to Zionist terror and expansionism. A Palestinian leader who would surrender to the Zionists or collude with them against his own people will be killed even before he is born."
Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon said the Zionist regime would negotiate a possible peace agreement with Arafat if the latter took "concrete steps" against Palestinian resistance groups fighting Israeli occupation and apartheid.
Sharon, a certified war criminal, has been seeking rabidly to reduce Israeli occupation of the Palestine from an illegal occupation to an issue of terrorism. http://palestine-info.com/" TARGET="_blank">Palestinian Information Center
