Many stories floating around on IMC have been proven bogus by www.snopes.com (a website dedicated to investigating all types of rumors).
The site now has a special section dedicated to rumors about the Sept 11 attacks.
On the site they go into detail about these bogus rumors:
"Fake CNN footage of Palestinians celebrating terrorist attacks"
"4 thousand Jews absent from WTC on day of attack"
the infamous "tourist photo atop the wtc tower" right before the crash.
They also investigated a few which turned out to be true...
Click on the "Rumors of War" link.
They document evidence of all rumors they investigate.
bogus rumors? Bogus snopes perhaps.
"Fake CNN footage of Palestinians celebrating terrorist attacks"
Israeli-Sharon led Zionists gave candy to Palestian children to stage a desired reaction for the world consumption. That's where their happiness came from.
"4 thousand Jews absent from WTC on day of attack"
I don't know where the 4000 number came from. WTC two towers can hold 50,000 workers. At the beginning of a workday you would expect at 1 in 5 workers to show up by 9:00 AM. 6000 died. 4000 escaped with prior warning. Whether all 4000 were Jewish, we do not know.
Before you continue your disinformation check these news sources:

Sometimes it seems there is just no reasoning with some people.
So it was the Prime Minister of Isreal, eh? Handing out candy to Palestinians to give the appearance of celebration...GIVE ME A BREAK!
I suppose you believe that no Palestianans whatsoever were happy about the attacks???
What a crock of shit.
Since Indymedia is an open publishing network, anyone that wants to publish any rumor can do so. The downside is obvious--not only can false and malicious stories be posted, but then people can come along and use those to tarnish our reputation. But the upside is that people can learn to set aside the passive consumerist approach to news, and to read everything they encounter with a probing, critical eye.
The "fake CNN footage" story was questioned from the very beginning, and was soon shown to be nothing but an unfounded rumor, whose probable source we managed to locate by uncoordinated group effort.
The "4,000 Israelis" story I personally refuted the first time it appeared on this site. The poster above continues to reference a story that actually *refutes* this claim, since it says that the Mossad only found out about this "early warning" after the attacks. Before the attacks, the people who received the messages didn't take them seriously. You can find this out simply by checking out the original story. By being an active, critical reader.
This is what Indymedia is all about. We will *always* have people feeding us all sorts of BS, since we have no mechanism for filtering it out. OUR READERS are our mechanism tof filtering the BS out.
