What's up with all the scum we take as allies (on the left and on the right). If this is foreign policy, maybe it's time to give isolationism another look-see.
Just kidding. Let's be real here. The problem is, we in the west are too fucking rich, and our business "leaders" (more like bleeders) like to put the squeeze on the peasants in the poor countries, simply because it's an easy way to extract a little more profit.
The farmers in colombia could be growing food instead of an export crop. How is that for an idea?
Actually I posted the photo here so I could use it in the center column. I intended to take no position on the FARC on way or another. I was drawn to the photo because it illustrates yet another part of the world where US intervention is generating resentment, international resentment against the US being an issue that is big in the alternative news these days. Sorry if the folks who erected the billboard are offensive to you but please understand that was neither my intention nor my point.
What we need is a dose of reality, even if the truth hurts. Keep it up. The truth will set you free.
