JOIN THE MORGAN STANLEY PHONE BLOCKADE AND STOP

by any sane person Sunday, Sep. 02, 2001 at 8:01 AM

let's stop the BS!!

Subject: JOIN THE MORGAN STANLEY PHONE BLOCKADE AND STOP

THE EDISON BAILOUT

A Harvey Rosenfield moment.

Harvey has moved his organization into a

War Room in Sacramento to stop the Southern

California Edison Bailout

Join Harvey Rosenfield, volunteers with the Oaks Project, and fellow Blackout Brigade members in Sacramento starting Monday, August 27 and be a part of the Bailout Watchdog - the citizen lobby to stop the bailout in Sacramento.

The legislature is gearing up to cut an end-of-session,

backroom deal and order Californians to pay billion

to bail out Southern California Edison. If this happens, PG&E and San Diego Gas & Electric will follow right behind.

Californians could be on the hook for billion or more. Why haven't the utilities and energy generators been able to shove a bailout through the legislature already? Sacramento politicians know deep down

that the public won't stand for it. But the Capitol

halls are swarming with energy lobbyists - it's time for a

citizens' lobby to be heard.

The Foundation for Taxpayer and Consumer Rights and the Oaks Project have established a War Room in the Capitol to coordinate a citizen lobbying effort of volunteers from across California. The War Room will counter the massive energy industry juggernaut that has descended upon the Capitol to force ratepayers to pick up the tab for Edison's deregulation losses.

We will keep 24-hour tabs on California lawmakers,

tracking every move that affects our energy future.

We set up our headquarters in Sacramento yesterday,

Monday, and got a lot of attention, from both the news media and lawmakers. If necessary, the "Bailout Watchdogs" will stay through to the end

of the Legislative session, Friday, September 14, to

make sure the people of California are heard. We hope you can join us.

Together we can stop the bailout.

For more information on how to join the Bailout Watchdog in our War Room in Sacramento, call (310) 392-0522, ext. 8, and leave a message with your name, and daytime and evening phone numbers. One of our staff members will get back to you right away!

It's time for all of us to come out of the woodwork and

support them.

If you live in the Sacramento area, PLEASE take them up on this request to get involved - even if it's only for one day.

Or stay right where you are and CALL MORAN STANLEY!

Don't move. Pick up the phone and Call Morgan Stanley at their toll free phone number 1-800-688-6896. You get a recording. Listen to the options, then hang up and press "Redial" and call again, - just keep calling all morning long.

If you are really angry about this Energy Crisis and

you really want to stop the Edison Bailout, call

1-800-688-6896 press #2 and talk to a stockbroker and give them a piece of your mind. Stay on the phone until they hang up on you, and then call back and really give them a piece of your mind.

Three thousand people calling 1-800-688-6896 all

morning long from 6:30 am to 1:30 pm (PDT) when the brokers are busy trading stock, will tie up the brokers, block their lines of communication, and disrupt trading.

If the phones are busy, investors who are a

minute late getting a call through to their broker to buy or sell could lose thousands of dollars a minute!

All it takes is teamwork to give them a rolling

blackout on their phones and put a stop to business as

usual.

If Morgan Stanley Empire wants us to stop calling,

they're going to stop price gouging, and convince the

Governor to scale back the rate hike and stop the Edison bailout.

This message brought to you by Consumers Action League.
