LEIMERT PARK (43rd St. and Crenshaw)
Mumia Abu-Jamal, a former Black Panther and award-winning journalist, was convicted and sentenced to death 20 years ago for the murder of a Philadelphia cop. His conviction was based on suppression and fabrication of evidence, routine exclusion of Black people from his jury, coercion of witnesses, and a phony "confession." But Mumia's steadfast support for revolutionary politics has created a great international movement demanding justice. Yet his life still hangs in the balance. Only a massive outpouring of support from the people will stop this execution, overturn his conviction and ultimately set him free.
