MTV VH1 BOYCOTT BY M.A.C.E

YOU HAVE BEEN UNDER A ROCK, FOR THE LAST 2 YEARS, IF YOU HAVENT NOTICED THAT MTV AND VH1, ARE TAKING THE MUSIC AWAY FROM EVERYONE AND REPLACING IT WITH STUPID SHOWS SO M.A.C.E MUSICIANS. AGAINCED. CORPORATE. EXPLOITATION IS FIGHTING BACK, SO HELP US OUT.

MUSIC/TV

by Daniel Thursday, Jun. 14, 2001 at 11:59 PM

There are people within both companys who, i'm sure, are trying to get things straightened out (re: trying to get innovative music programming aired) and there are those who believe the shows and other cultural regurgitation are what the people want and need so they'll get the ratings.

i just wonder what good not watching does, when even a good video is shown here and there. what are the alternatives for music tv? there's always MTV2 (although not available in a lot of areas), and online resources, but it's still tough to satiate that need. hehe

anywyas, i'm just wondering if someone might care to expound a bit on why they're choosing to boycott mtv and vh1.

Why boycott?

Uller@nXcaffe.com

The reason we are boycotting Mtv / vh1 is because they are corporatly controled monopolys of video media. Owned by viacom, and we believe they are here to make money at the Expense, of musicians whose art is being Intentionly suppresed and we are Devoloping are own music chanel built by musicians for musicians.

hang out on the streets, kids

by johnk Friday, Jun. 15, 2001 at 7:40 AM

I recommend that the kids hang out on the streets and at shady pool halls and record stores.

When that gets boring, check out the library, and join a charity group like food not bombs.

that last comment sucked!

first off, MTV and VH1 do not suck.

MTV has kicked off a show called "beatmix" which has world wide club and rave dj's in it. This is the most powerful move mtv has made in years. The dj is the enemy to right wing christian censors who want to control what we see.

VH1 has the "behind the scenes" and "bands on the run" which is sabatage at its best. They informed the nation about what really happened at the Demacratic national convention with rage against the machine and the lapd rights violaters.

MTV has launched 4 networks including internet radio, MTV 2, and MTV X. This is just what we all need.

MTV was helpful in getting people to vote in this last election.

I cannot stand all the pop corporate non-sense that fills the mtv and vh1 airwaves but, it is very important in the whole sceme of things. We have to tolerate mtv and its corporate agenda because it is on our side in the long run.

I think you should attend a rave and then watch comedy central or mtv and then realize that they are all we have left as youth. FUCK a library or the Church!!! Seek out new music yourself and stop complaining when mtv sells you an idea. The music revolution is allready here so seek it out.

Christians and conservative groups cringe at the idea of high school children raving on drugs then watching south park or thats my bush fucked up.

Hardball and cnn and larry king and pax are just not as trippy as all these "shows" on mtv and vh1.

Get with the times people!!!

Like limp bizkit, "It's my way. My way or the HIGH-way".

haha take that!!!!

PS. I am tired of playing checkers with insane cristian wacko's who want to control what I see and hear.

such as the ones at bus stops? they use the oil with the lazers comming out of it's eyes. "The All Seeing Owl" .. It's a manson symbol. Ancient. Goes way back and it's also used by our government.... interesting, isn't that?
