If you want to protest the high energy prices that the Texas based power companies have charged fellow citizens in California, you can drag the following Republican Contributors into the center of this problem and legally take them hostage.
No Justice, No commerce!
I call for the following 2 activities to punish the Republican Party
1. I seek volunteers to go to baseball games and if you have a seat behind home plate hold up a cloth sign reading RESIGN MR BUSH. This will show up on local and national TV.
2. Boycott the following prominent Republican party contributors
AT&T
Coca Cola
Pepsi Cola
Shell Oil
Exxon/Mobil
American Express
Marriot Hotels
JC Penney
WalMart
Dell Computers
then call and write them and ask them to relay your demands of the following to the National Republican party and congressional house members and RESIDENT Bush:
price controls for California electricity and windfall profits tax.
an 8 dollar minimum wage
health care for the 40 million people who have no health care
a hate crimes bill based on race, sexual preference and religion
an end to union busting activities
an end to anti environmental activities
repeal of the 1996 welfare law.
and more
You take these companies hostage legally and if enough people boycott it will get done.
They only understand money and pressure. Tell your friends.
If you have to lose money due to high energy prices due to companies gouging you, then your boycott will cause Republican contributors to lose money. Use your power.
Thank you.

The boycotting I definitely support. Ceasing environmentally damaging policies is a must. However, raising minimum wage has never helped anything. I have been saying it all along and sure enough...the last min wage hike did cause prices to rise immediately. Large companies are not going to be stuck holding the bag. They will and always have passed along their cost increases to the consumer in the form of higher prices. The minimum wage increases have the end effect of making the cost of living higher as well and putting those who make min wage right back where they started. In just the short time I have worked outside of family businesses, min wage has increased by 2 whole dollars. In kind, I have seen prices increase as well. We are doing nothing but making our worthless little green papers even more worthless. The shackles grow tighter. I make more than min wage and still have a hard time scraping by with my studio apartment in a crummy neighborhood and my old econocar that is paid off, but starting to fall apart at the seams. I can understand how those people making min wage are not making it or having an even harder time, but the battle cry has been all too often the oversimplified demand for more money. I think something must be done, and I have ideas, but raising minimum wage will not do anyone any favors. Bottom line is that companies won't lose profit because of increases in labor cost. They will pass it along to the people who now have a little more money in their pockets, the min wage workers. Another thing that has to be realized is that min wage jobs are designed to help people get a foothold in life, not to support a family of four for the next 40 years. I urge people to get into the skilled labor arena where they can make more. There is no excuse for someone who really does want to make it. Not to sound like a hardass, but that is how it is. And finally, I think the less we ask the government to come in a control our lives, the better. Rate caps and min wage hikes, that's letting Big Brother put us between a rock and a hard place and then begging him to save us. Nu-uh, no way, not me!
