May Day Wounds (17 days later)

These pictures obviously indicate that these weapons are lethal. They penetrate the skin (as you can see). There is still a fragment inside my leg that I wont be able to get out because it's too deep to pull out.

I looked up those 'non-lethal' weapons a while back on actual manufacturers' websites. The pounds per square inch are high enough even at a range of 10-75 feet to cause serious damage like internal organ rupture and massive skull fractures. The manufacturers themselves refuse to call them non-lethal and call them less-lethal because they have a lesser chance of being lethal when used right. They also post disclaimers letting the buyer know that any use of these weapons will cause serious trauma to living organisms. Sad but true. Of course, we can't expect the automatons to help us here either. The system will always protect the system and responsability will always devolve below the power level. Keep raging, and always remember to put the cap back on your marker.

Thank you. Yes, actually i've seen a surgent and a few doctors. Mainly about aquiring possible risk of infection, and about the other fragment still in there. The wound actually is healing very well. The wound in these pictures look ALOT better compared to how they used to look about 2 weeks ago. But it's still going to take alooong time before it's completly healed. I was told to make sure the dead skin doesn't get into the wounds so i'm making sure to keep it clean as possible.... I don't have to walk with much of a limp anymore so I know that's a good sign :)

Killer Police

by anonymous Saturday, May. 19, 2001 at 5:49 PM

I was in Long Beach, but wasn't shot. It's lucky for the police I wasn't shot, judging by the look of these wounds. I have an immune system dysfunction that prevents wounds like those pictured from healing in my body, and I am allergic to antibiotics.

These weapons are not even anywhere near less than leathal. If I had been hit, even with "proper use" of the guns, my leg would be ripe with gangrene right now, and I'd be sure the police were paying for it.

Shooting people for walking in their own streets is attempted murder, no matter what sort of weapons are used. Just wait until they try to murder the wrong person and end up with the dead body of an innocent person on their hands. They thought May Day was bad, imagine what mass civil unrest would look like!

This is so... inhumane! God help you and all of us in America as it continues to become communist.

Our fore fathers would not believe what these "new" Americans have done to the country they set up to have constitutional rights which is daily denied us thousands of times a day all over the country.

Hitler did not treat the jews this badly as our government treats it's very own.

These rubber-coated metal bullets...

by Terry Wednesday, May. 30, 2001 at 2:24 AM

These rubber-coated metal bullets are the same "non-lethal" bullets the Israelis have been killing Palestinian children with for years - while so many of us have sat here in a state of apathy....There are plenty of those pictures - yes, skull fractures, missing eyes, dead babies - unarmed (or armed with stones)....

I'm sure Mad Albright would say "It's worth the price"...

What our government lets it's closest ally and "best friend" do, it will surely do to us.

When will we learn...

america as a comparison hitler comment

by katie Wednesday, May. 30, 2001 at 8:04 PM

i am shocked by this comment

"Hitler did not treat the jews this badly as our government treats it's very own"

hitler systematically killed millions of jews and gays. genicide.

the wounds in these pictures look bad and there are very severe problems with police and government at the moment, but i am in shock that someone would say the above qouted comment. i was shocked and if i was jewish or gay and had family members or myself suffer, had family killed, lived in a concentration camp any of the horrible unspeakable things that happened i would feel so betrayed and would not believe that someone could loosely compare something to hitler. be very careful to compare anything to hitler. i believe stalin can be compared to hitler. and other genocides, but police brutality can not be compared to genocide. i would ask that anyone please be careful in the future when using the suffering of jewish people and gays at the hands of hitler as a comparison. thank you

I'll add one thing, america is NOT becoming communist and hasn't been becoming communist at all. The only time america has ever been somewhat associated with communism is when the CIA infiltrated, flipped, massacred and generally destroyed communist countries for the benefit of 'free enterprise'. The reason why I was shot is because we DO NOT live a democratic society. The people do not have democracy. Power comes from the top down, not the bottom up. This is a clear example about TOP against BOTTOM. That's because wealth dominates politics. America is the world's greatest plutocracy, that's just obvious if you ask me. The economic interests in this capitalist society do not benefit the people. They benefit the system. The president isn't "elected" by the people, he's appointed through wealth. This is how a 'free market' system works. Those who consume wealth consume political and economic power. Therefor corporations and government work hand-in-hand. It's a structural pyramid built on the backbone of money. It's another reason why the US has the worst human rights record. This is what capitalism is. America isn't close to communist. I don't see why some people point the finger at communism when something like this happens, because to me that's absolutely absurd. It's completely irrelevant, because we aren't communist. Communists didn't cause this, CAPITALISTS caused this. Why point the finger at something else to suppress the truth. The United States government is the most destructive government on the face of this earth. Our military expenditures exceed those of the top 12 military expenditures of the world, and are more than a 3rd of all put together. This is a tyranny that is tax/corporate funded. It's an interlocking bureaucracy that puts profit ahead of people because tax's and corporate revenue are both generated through the market system, that's the whole purpose of becoming a 'consumer' in today's society. For example, tax cuts increase consumer spending. Therefor the economy benifits. Yet, the economy benefits the rich. The rich are those who hold political and economic power. So who benifits? Obviously not the people. Once again, the 'free market' system at work. And on top of that tax dollars are fed into this fascist system by law. All this money doesn't go back into the community. It goes right back to the police state. It goes right back to multinationals, it goes right back to the military and the rest of the government. It obviously doesn't go towards helping people. It goes towards making more money and consuming every resource possible to establish control. Yet, that's ironic how we call it a "FREE" market, because there's simply no such thing as FREEDOM in that type of economic system. A successful "free market" system is a plutocracy, and that's what we have today. This is capitalism, and it's just so obviouse because America is the world's greatest plutocracy. And a plutocracy is absolutely the direct opposite of a democracy. It just goes to show the hypocrisy of America. Like the same way the police say they are there to "protect and to serve the people." It's like a game of trickery to see who fall's for the lie.. It's absolute oppression, and the cause of that is capitalism. The economic interests in this country have been the same ever since this government set foot on this continent. We've never controlled the government. Never. And this picture isn't the first to demonstrate that. These type of things happen to people all the time. It's been going on for hundreds of years. It's not rare to say the least.

"Trigger-happy Policing"

by Jim Tyler Thursday, May. 31, 2001 at 8:09 PM
Jtyler4307@aol.com

I am amazed - but, sadley - NOT amazed at the same time. Any time a projectile is hurtled at a person at a high velocity, damage is expcted. Do these police think that "rubber" means they'll bouce off of the target? You can kill a person with a dime at the right velocity and impact point!

Was the crowd threatening? Where they pillaging, destroying, and beating up others? Were the police in any REAL danger?

I hope you get better. I hope you can sue the police and the city into oblivion!

COMMUNISM - OF FACISM? (AND, CAN SPELL?)

by Jim Tyler Thursday, May. 31, 2001 at 8:19 PM
Jtyler4307@aol.com

"The only time america has ever been somewhat associated with communism is when the CIA infiltrated, flipped, massacred and generally destroyed communist countries for the benefit of 'free enterprise'."

I have to protest. Communism is a socio-economic state in which the people own the means of production.

Another approach: Remember the communes? THEY are comminist. All things belong to all. All have equal share to "the goods".

True communism is quite a desirable state. The early Church in Jerusalem was a comministic state in that all things were held common. No-one gelt they had ownership of anything. Everyone sold all they had and put it "in the pot" for all to have equal access to.

Unfortunately, we cannot have a state like this. Especially with capitalism being the present state. No-one will want to give up ownership, possesions, and - thereof - power.

Don't mention the USSR - It wasn't truely comminist. It was quite a bit socialist. But it was totalitarianism and fascism.

(Don't you love my "spelling"?)

I really wish there was true commuinism. I think it would fare well with democray. But democracy is polluted by capitalism.

Any way, "communism" is a bad choice of words - Try fascism.

What a bunch of pussies. If you are going to protest and violate the law of the land you deserve to get shot with rubber bullets. Funny how you work to destroy the system and then decide that you will use that system to sue! There is a word for that...Hmmm Hypo what?

Of course you will remove this from the board because it disagrees with you....Hmmm, just like a Facist society.

GEE, well i'm sorry we violated the law ... I guess now i'll remmeber that FREEDOM OF SPEECH is AGAINST the law in america. Therefor that gives the militarized police state the "right" to inflict overwhelming violence upon anyone who tries to vioce their political opinion in this country.

The police state is the crime. They're existance is a crime. This whole fucking institution of racism, injustice and repression is a crime. So, sorry buddy, when opression and organized crime becomes the law, rebellion becomes an occupation.

you're either part of the solution, or your part of the fucking problem.

now go take your pro-american pussy ass back to your television set.

I don't think there's anything necessarily wrong with being pro-American. It's when people can't seem to figure out what America's supposed to stand for, and then turn around and defend a system of fascist capitalism that "patriotism" becomes a problem. But the original ideals upon which this country was founded... flawed as our Founding Fathers were, they were on the right track. In that sense I am very much pro-American, and most of these so-called "patriots" are in fact traitors.

I would wear the scars with pride brother.

You should be very aware that the dominant paradigm, wants you to just let it go. Use that to pick another fight. One in the courtroom. Peaceful protesting is legal, freedom of speach is legal. You should make this legal too.

My father was Special Forces. He said to command fear or respect. Well here in the anarchist cicles. You don't want anyone to fear you. Make them respect you. But, the courtroom. It is all about fear, money and power. Make them Give you that. Mabey you didn't catch their attention, with your peaceful protest. Brother, you will if you make them pay, if you make them face you like a man.

The only mistake that the police made was not aiming higher. Or maybe using real bullets.
