I demand that Los Angeles Independent Media remove all postings by the fascist thugs, La Voz de Aztlan (LVA), from this website TODAY. Your continued failure to do so, despite the many protests from viewers, is a sign that you support these stinking Nazis. There is no middle ground when it comes to fascist thugs like LVA, and like the Ku Klux Klan. They both advocate murder. LVA advocates murder of lesbians. It is promoting anti-Semitism and homophobia, which is not acceptable on any independent media site. You cannot hide behind free speech. The First Amendment does not guarantee the LVA the right to promote murder or to falsely accuse anyone. LVA has falsely accused Jews and gays of causing the Latino community problems as Jews and gays, and it advocates murder of Lesbians. It is the question from the old labor song: Which side are you on? Remove the postings of La Voz de Aztlan from Los Angeles Independent Media site today or you will be considered supporters of La Voz de Aztlan. This cannot continue.
Oh yeah, I forgot, the IMC opposes free speech. They should pick and choose who gets to post here, and what they post about. I hope more people would come forward and protect me from points of view I disagree with.
Of course La Voz de Aztlan is an embarassment. I first found them to be an interesting source of news about Chicano issues, before they began this rapid descent into bitter and paranoid attacks against Jews and homosexuals. I want nothing to do with them. But if they want to post their shit here, so be it. I won't bother to read it.
"If we don't believe in freedom of expression for people we despise, we don't believe in it at all.
-Noam Chomsky
You "demand" that the posts be removed?
Who the hell are you? My "master"?
This kind of tone may sound impressive when you're shouting at the "powers that be", but it's comical when directed at the IMC. It's like a roach yelling at the roaches.
There exists a policy of open publishing on the IMC websites, and unless there's a request by the author to remove the articles, or a group decision is made to remove an article, it remains up.
At the next meeting, the publishing policy will be discussed. We may opt to do something proactive about posts. The meeting is open to everyone, and is at the Quaker Meeting House, 4167 Normandie in LA. 4pm, Saturday the 13th. Please, before attending, subscribe to the listserv (a link is on the front page) as there is a proposal on the table for a global IMC publishing policy.
By the way:
The posts have been deleted, because an email from LVA accused IMC of copyright violation.
Supposedly, LVA did not post these articles to the site. They may have been posted by someone else.
