The Long Beach police attacked May Day protesters and arrested an unknown number--possibly over one hundred this afternoon. Anarchists and other revolutionaries gathered at the said meeting place at 3 PM. The situation was fairly calm except for the larger-than-life police presence surrounding the 100 activists. Around 3:30 the Black Bloc bagan marching down 1st Street plowing through a police line-the police retreated. The Bloc had a confrontation with a line of police a block or so down from there and that ended with a dispersal order. As the BB continued down the opposite direction, the police went after them. When the Bloc turned the corner The Man in charge yelled for the cops to cut them off--and they were armed with bean bag guns and attack dogs.

The cops shot many people and some were injured--some bleeding down the street. Anarchists were thrown to the ground and some trapped near a hotel. Only a few of us escaped.

The International Revolutionary Anarchist Taoist Equalitarians escaped without injury but we fear for our anarchist comrades that are jailed as the pigs will surely treat them poorly. Solidarity for our comrades and until the revolution,

Here's the update from Long Beach:

75 adults arrested.

25 kids.

So that's total of 100 arrest.

I'm going to write up a longer account of what I saw, but I can't in good conscience delay stating that the Long Beach police were brutal; that is, extremely aggressive, belligerent and well beyond anybody's sense of appropriate conduct.

This approximates what was stated by police after calling the station this evening "there's 100 people arrested for felony, conspiracy and failing to disperse. At this time many of them are being let go with a 0 bail." The official press release from the police department claims that "the protestors failed to disperse the area and started throwing rocks at the police." They futhermore claim that "protestors were found to have had rocks, broken bottles, containers of urine and feces and M80s on their bodies when taken into custody." (?)

The deptartment is located at 400 West Broadway in Long Beach. (Some are most likely spending the night).

I hope you have already seen the ecellant footage that was carried on Los Angeles Channel 11 at 11 pm last night. The voice over description was totally at odds with the visual (as is to be expected)but footage clearly shows what happened. It will serve you well in court.

I hope you all recover soon are are excarcerated by now. Please do not be mistaken about the LBPD, they are the worst.

time to stop protesting for equality and go underground. Its amazing the amount of posters/graffti/distruction a couple of groups of two can do at 2;30am to 4:30am, the streets are yours and you can put messages all over town. Fuck capitalist fuck cunsumers. I love you all comrades, I don't want you all to be documented so lets go under ground, every weekend or night off. Make life living to resist.
