The Reverend Jesse Jackson announced today that he is back in the political/activist arena, and will be in the public eye beginning in a couple of days. This is good news for all progressives who have devoted much of their time to the Rev. Jackson's advancement. His career climbing will be back in full gear by the end of this week, and progressives of all stripes who have been rooting for decades for his ambitions to be fulfilled can begin to relax again. Rev. Jackson in back on track, and progressives can now start worrying about other icons, such as Fidel Castro, who has already been getting dirty looks from the Bush administration. There are many leaders who progressives support, and the intellectuals who speak for progressives will be busy in the months ahead promoting their leaders, which is the very purpose of progressivism.
