After obtaining an official press credential from the DNC gallery, the IMC Radio team has been denied access to the Staples center. No explanation was given except that they were not allowed inside. Corporate media like CNN, LA Times and the Washington Post, enjoy full access while the IMC is shut out.
...if we could somehow get the mainstream press to acknowledge *this* as an issue. True, they don't like the causes we stand for much, but it's just possible that a few of them might view this as outright censorship. If each of us took the time to fire off an email to several reporters
on this matter, we might be able to break through a little of the media blackout, and promote the indymedia network to boot!
Good luck with efforts to obtain mainstream news media coverage of the prior restraint exhibited toward IMC staff journalists .... but do not expect too much too quickly.
Consider the manner in which mainstream journalists have treated their fellow reporter Mumia, for example: One would think that a political persecution of a journalist by the State would be oppose vigorously by said flacks -- and it no doubt would be -- if it were not being inflicted on an American, in America, by a repressive US State.
