Around 12pm on August 13th, the LAPD reportedly turned back a blue line subway car headed toward Pico Station. The car was sent back to the Washington stop to avoid "police activity" further up the line. When questioned as to who decreed the reroute, MTA officials pointed to the LAPD, while LAPD officials claimed they were following an MTA request. By 1 pm, there have been reports that the line is once again open.
The blue line remains closedat 3pm. Downtown Los Angeles remains a police state with thousands of officers surrounding the Staples Center. Caravans of 40 police vehicles are reported to be dispatched around the area as if getting ready for a war that only they themselves can create.
