Deep in thought.

Well,I think this picture represents PERHAPS a small minority of police as well as military officials who may have their conciousness pricked by social, environmental, judicial, civic issues. For the most part,I have no sympathy for them.

dehumanization

by FiRE Monday, Aug. 14, 2000 at 7:41 AM
fire@yellowjournal.cjb.net

I am an anarchist and i disagree with the concept of police. However i think that many cops are decent men trying to make a living, even trying to "clean up the problems of society", as far as they are concerned. We must not dehumanize cops. They do, unwillingly become insturments of the state, no matter how ambitious they might be to serve society. Yes, many cops are brutal and corrupt and willing instruments of the state, but perhaps, many are just not daring enough to defy orders and lose their jobs and have no food for their families. Let us not forget that they too are victims of authoritarian capitalism's social class system and wage slavery. They too are human, and like a factory worker, they must also be able to live, and unwillingly support the capitalist machine.

Police

by Colt Monday, Aug. 14, 2000 at 11:35 AM
colt@coltradio.org

More evidence that the police are people who think. Instead of treating the police as the enemy... make the legit police your allies. Some can't be helped but many can be made to think and feel and be humans rather than weapons. Be nice to them.. don't allow them to see you as the enemy. Take the time to offer your friendship and kindness to every officer you come across. If they see you as a kind, peacefull, helpfull person.. they can not see you as an 'it.'

decent?

by Frederick Johnson Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2000 at 6:29 PM

I have posted on Philly imc and here before, and never have a heard a sensible argument like this one. I hope and I pray that you were both serious because that is the way to start a change. People who do good, and try to do good, need to be reassured that they are doing good. These people can help you, they are not always so extreme. Work within the system. Thank you for being decent human beings.
