It's not all true that we are all fools.

One of our friendly posters seems to lack the sense of humour needed to spot sarcasm.

Believe me, we are fully aware that cops in storm-trooper gear with raised fists in the air are not showing solidarity with our cause. :)

So much ignorance

Why do cops keep posting at this site? And why do they hate protestors so much?

Give a cop a hug.

by Silly Rabbit Sunday, Aug. 20, 2000 at 1:34 PM

I think Cops should post here. I thinks it's fine and healthy. As for why cops hate protesters...I's ask why so many protesters hate cops. I'm sure both sides could provide lots of excuses, but unfortunatle I think the answer lies in our very nature. I've seen quite a few blurbs about hating cops. I've said I hate cops myself. Sometimes I do. Especially after I've been beaten by one. Why hold a grudge though? The truth is though, that its a shame that we can't get the cops on our side, the side of truth and justice. The cops should "Serve and Protect" the people, not thier bosses power. We are all human and nobody's perfect. It's to bad the police couldnt act as our armed protectors during marches rather than armed oppressors. It's to bad they wern't with us instead of against us. In Seattle, when the police requested assistance from the fire department to hose people down, both the fire chief and the head of the firemans guild refused, citing public saftey concerns (not spraying people with water in the winter). They were with us, that was cool.

These guys are lonely and as the former hall monitors of high schools everywhere, I think its time to lighten up on them. These were the guys that were either bullies or being bullied in high school. The next time you meet a cop just say, "hey we love you", and give them a little hug.

Maybie they all just need a little hug.

fuck the police

by who wants to know Friday, Aug. 25, 2000 at 7:02 PM

the reason to hate cops is becasue they represnt the state. yeah they are just doing their job, but their job is to crush the masses and protect the rich. that is is their job and i hate them. off the pigs. not to say that we shouoldn't be nice to them now, becasue honestly, we have neither the numbers nor the organization needed to overthrow the government, at least for now. however, we should always look at them as the enemy.

Our Stalinist poster

by Bill Hicks lives Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000 at 12:19 PM

The previous poster who says "off the pigs" apparently is no better than the police themselves. What makes him better than the police, if he ascribes to the same brutality the police display. I think the other poster who discussed why can't the police be on our side got it right. Stalin killed millions ostensibly to make the revolution "safe" and it did anything but. Brutality in the name of any cause is injust and those who use it can no longer claim the high ground.

I hate cops because they Kill People.

IF the cops did not carry weapons I would admire them.

I have _never had to strike let alone shoot a person - and I worked in security.

The day the cops drop their armor piercing dum dum splintering bullets and their rubber bullets and their guns is the day they will have my support. I have no problem with tear gas and non violent force. But when cops kill civilians they are no longer protecting people.
