those are not LAPD vehicles, but rather california highway patrol (but yer point is valid)

los angeles law enforcement (lapd, chp, sheriff) do not stop for stranded motorists unless it's a hazardous situation. that isn't what is meant by service, acting like a taxi service, for the most part for adults who can walk a couple of hundred feet to a phone or, more likely among the protestors, carrying a nokia cell phone, with interchangeable face plates, that their parents pay for.

Dear Cop:

Thanks for confirming what we already knew - that police, despite their usual claims, are not there to help people. Instead, they are paid to keep the many from bothering the rich with their pesky pleas for such extremist ideals as direct democracy, preservation of what's left of the natural world instead of accelerated CEO/shareholder profits, for-profit prison industries, etc.

May you one day experience a "moment of clarity", when you realize that you, too, have been duped. Your job, which garners you little respect and low pay, was created by the rich and powerful to protect them from other common folk who, ironically, you are one of.
