This article presents a chronology of DNC 2000 legal actions by protesters, and actions by police and state against protesters, as sets of links to articles. Includes excellent background information on U.S. Federal plans for handling non-violent protesters, as well as thorough analysis of police tactics.

This is a great chronology! Thank you for putting links all in one place. Two suggestions: it would help if every piece were dated, if not in the URL then in the description. And small white font on grey is very, very hard to read. cmb

Since this great gathering of activist-friendly info is bound to get lost down the scroll, I suggest making it the centerpiece of a whole new website dedicated specifically to, as your title says, documenting the police state, i.e., all this attempted clampdown on free speech and genuine democracy.
It's now obvious to many that the powers that be are responding to civil society's proactive battle against corporate rule by pushing the envelope on what is "acceptable" police behavior in a "free" society. This trend needs to be THOROUGHLY DOCUMENTED! (as in "you're watching us? well, we're watching you!") I'm sure there's already a potential submovement of activists who have personally borne the brunt of all this police thuggery in their experiences in Seattle, D.C., Philly, L.A., MInneapolis, etc. who could contribute to such a project.
Go for it, the activist community'll love you for it, and I think John Locke & Jean-Jacques Rousseau would too!
