The dog in this shot, Amstel, belongs to my friend Angie. The picture reminded me of an exchange we had with a guy during the march. He came up to us laughing, and said, "I saw your dog growling at a couple of police officers earlier. And, you see, while in the States cops are called pigs, back in Mexico they're called dogs. So when I saw your dog growling, I said to my wife, 'Hey look, the dog's gonna attack the dog.'"

I am interested in knowing some more background information about the photo and the participants involved.

It is strange how innocent the dog looks in this picture. The police with all of their protective gear glaring at this dog as if it were going to actually overthrow them. When in reality, the dog stares at these cops hoping for one small stroke of love on its body. The innocense of the dog will someday destroy the brutality of the police.
