There was a very peaceful anti ICE rally ( consisting of perhaps a hundred people or so ), at the Cypress Home Depot in Los Angeles California on January 11th ,. The protest started on Figueroa and migrated to the store parking lot. Eventually a mild and controlled group of LAPD police barred the way to the protesters who were trying to enter the store with signage and shouted chants of “abolish ICE”

The store locked their doors sealing customers in and the anti ICE people out.

After voicing their concerns about ICE and DHS abuses to the attending officers, the doors reopened and the crowd dispersed as the afternoon drew to a close.





10,000 PEOPLE HAVE BEEN detained or removed from their homes in Los Angeles County and put into detention centers around the United States for “ Trump era “ immigration violations. This is according the Department of Homeland Security and ICE.

Steven Miller who is the White House Assistant Chief of Staff and Homeland Security advisor set the tone in a rant to ICE agents in June of 2025 that any illegal immigrants were to be detained and deported despite any criminal records. He ordered ICE agents to go into Home Depot parking lots and make arrests in military style .

It is estimated that 70 percent of of those picked up by ICE are folks without any criminal records.

The story of the Cypress Park Home Depot is one of endless hassles for day laborers ranging from the attempted eviction of a city ordained day laborer center on Home Depot property to the corporation's installation of devices that emit noxious sounds to dissuade laborers from hanging around the property to ICE raids that that have seen children and families put into the grinder of detention and deportation.

Home Depot has had a symbiotic relationship with the Los Angeles day laborer community for years. It is of great benefit to them to have a ready work force to meet the needs of customers buying tools and supplies from the company.

In response to all of this several things have developed.

A boycott has been started against the company.

In LA a group has formed called the North Los Angeles Alliance for Democracy. They are responsible for the protest pictured in this article.

They have a complex platform that is in absolute opposition to the MAGA agenda.

They are holding a weekly protest / vigil at the Cypress Park Home Depot every Sunday.

The two main vectors of dissent that the NALA Alliance were addressing are first, the amount of people who have died in ICE custody at various detention facilities and secondly the boycott.

In 2025 32 people expired in Ice Custody. The signs in these photos are basically funeral cards that commemorate these people.

In 2026 there have been six more deaths .

Geraldo Lunas Campos (Jan 3): His death at Camp East Montana in El Paso was ruled a homicide by asphyxia by the medical examiner.

Luis Gustavo Núñez Cáceres (Jan 5): Died at a Houston-area hospital following medical emergencies while detained in Conroe, Texas.

Luis Beltrán Yáñez–Cruz (Jan 6): Died from heart-related issues after being transferred from the Imperial Regional Detention Facility to a California hospital.

Parady La (Jan 9): Died in Philadelphia while receiving treatment for drug withdrawal; family members allege medical neglect.

Víctor Manuel Díaz (Jan 14): Found unresponsive at Camp East Montana; ICE classified it as a "presumed suicide," which the family disputes.

Heber Sánchez Domínguez (Jan 14): Found hanging in his cell at the Robert A. Deyton Detention Center in Georgia

This is a list of detention centers in Southern California

Main Detention Facilities in Southern California

Adelanto ICE Processing Center (San Bernardino County): A large, privately run facility in Adelanto that serves as a primary location for immigrants in removal proceedings in Southern California.

California City Detention Facility (Kern County): A private for-profit facility (operated by CoreCivic) that has been used to hold over 1,400 detainees as of January 2026.

Otay Mesa Detention Center (San Diego County): A facility used by ICE in the San Diego area, which also holds immigrants from the Los Angeles Field Office's area of responsibility.

Golden State Annex (Kern County): Located in McFarland, this is a for-profit facility used by ICE.

Desert View Annex (San Bernardino County): Located in Adelanto.

Imperial Regional Detention Facility (Imperial County): Located in Calexico. 

Temporary Holding & Processing

Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) Los Angeles: As of August 2025 and January 2026, federal agents have used this downtown Los Angeles federal jail to temporarily hold ICE detainees, often following transfers from other facilities.

Local Jail Cooperation: Some suburban city jails in the LA area have been used to hold ICE detainees.

ICE Processing Center (Downtown LA): The ICE Field Office in the federal building at 300 North Los Angeles St. is used for initial processing. 



Here is a history of particular Home Depot raids in 2025 to 2026 ( so far )

Since mid-2025,

Home Depot parking lots—historically hubs for day laborers—have become frequent sites for immigration enforcement operations. The majority of these reported "raids" have occurred in Southern California, particularly in the Los Angeles area. 

Significant Home Depot Immigration Raids (2025–2026) 

The following list identifies specific Home Depot locations and dates where major immigration enforcement activity has been reported:

Downey, CA

: On January 10, 2026, agents were filmed speeding away from the parking lot after an operation that left witnesses frantic; the number of detainees was not immediately confirmed.

Westlake District, Los Angeles

: This location on Wilshire Boulevard has been a frequent target.

August 28, 2025: Eight people were arrested in an operation outside the store near the CARECEN Day Labor Center.

August 6, 2025: Sixteen people were arrested in a raid dubbed "Operation Trojan Horse," where agents reportedly used rental trucks to surprise workers.

June 6, 2025: A series of sweeps across the district included a violent clash at this Home Depot where agents in riot gear chased individuals through the lot.

North Hollywood, CA

: On August 11, 2025, up to 20 people, including day laborers, were detained by armed agents at approximately 9:30 a.m.. An additional raid was reported on September 26, 2025.

North Hollywood

: On June 30, 2025, DHS confirmed 37 people were arrested across these three locations, with 11 arrests in

North Hollywood

and 12 on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood.

Hollywood (Sunset Blvd)

: On June 19, 2025, a large-scale raid occurred where more than a dozen people were detained. A Ph.D. student and U.S. citizen was reportedly tackled and held for 24 hours after filming the incident.

Monrovia, CA

: In August 2025, a man fleeing federal agents at a Home Depot ran onto the 210 Freeway and was struck and killed.

Sacramento, CA (Florin Road)

: Border Patrol agents conducted a raid at this location, arresting "numerous" individuals, including one described by authorities as a repeat offender.
