The Minuteman III ICBM is tested at Vandenberg Space Command in Santa Barbara County, near Lompoc. A solid fuel rocket with high tech computers is assisted on its trajectory to the once lovely Kwajalein atoll in the Marshall Islands by the Space and Missile Center in El Segundo CA.
The test launch set for the midnight August 23rd violates the Nuclear Non Proliferation treaty in which the US promised to engage in good faith disarmament of nuclear weapons.
