Pasadena based, Parsons Corporation, is building prisons and military bases in Iraq.
Antiwar.com ran the following tidbit of news:
"The Pentagon estimates there are currently 11,500 "security detainees" in Iraq – more than 3,500 of them at Abu Ghraib. The U.S. military has hired Parsons Corporation of Los Angeles to build two additional prisons with the hope of increasing the capacity of U.S. prisons in Iraq by 10,000 more. None of the Iraqis detained in these prisons have access to a lawyer or public trail. Their cases come up before a closed military panel once every six months for review. No charges are ever filed." [ http://www.antiwar.com/glantz/?articleid=6547 ]
A quick "Google Search" reveals that Parsons Corporation maintain offices in Pasadena, and that they are indeed involved in building prisons in occupied Iraq. But according to the Parsons website... they are doing more than just building gulags, they are also re-building the Taji Military Base northwest of Baghdad, building recruiting stations at Al Hillah, Baghdad, and Kirkuk. Parsons is also building a military logistics base in Kirkush. Parsons is building oil pipelines and refineries across occupied Iraq. The company is also "managing" tons of captured arms and ordnance; and building "infrastructure" and "public" buildings. It's all listed on the "Parsons Project Iraq" website, located at: http://www.parsonsiraq.com/english/default.asp
Parsons has their corporate headquarters located in Pasadena California:
Corporate Headquarters 100 West Walnut Street Pasadena, CA 91124 626-440-2000 http://www.parsons.com/

A subsidiary of Halliburton:
Brown & Root Services 790 E Colorado Blvd Ste 600 Pasadena, CA 91101
When is the protest? Thanks for posting this. These are the real sites to protest at. Not the federal building or Hollywood or an empty downtown on a Saturday afternoon.
The anti-war movement needs to get on target. No more peace parades. Direct action at the offices of the war profiteers is what is needed to bring the war home.
So let’s picket this Parsons.

So the mere fact that this company has been hired by the Government is reason enough to protest.
And people say you guys aren't hobbyists.
Very, very funny.

...gulags in Iraq that are centers of torture operated by Saddam Hussein, oops, I'm sorry he's gone, they're being run by our wonderful armed forces who make such lovely pornographic images of human degradation--funded by a private company that is based in liberal Pasadena.
Just to enlighten the fetid-minded.

Let's see... they're building airbases. They're building recruiting stations. Infrastructure projects and oil pipelines.
Hmmmm. Sound's pretty nefarious to me.
I guess any company WILL do.
And as far as the VP connection goes, sure you got the right company, as if it even matters.
But don't let me stand in the way of yet another embarrassingly pathetic and inneffectual "protest" from a bunch of spoiled white kids.

If targeting the Parsons Bldg in Pasadena, be sure to place your self in front of the correct bldg, it is the tall white bldg closest to the 210 fwy, not the two smaller brown towers closest to Colorado blvd. The two smaller towers also have the name on the bldg, are home healthcare systems (which helps millions in SoCal) and Yahoo.com

You're copy and pasted cartoon mdoes have a point.
Compare and contrast:
Walking a prisoner around like a dog with, cutting his head off and videotaping it.
If there was an Olympics for torture, the US wouldn't even qualify.
What happns at Abu Graib is about as far removed from actual torture as having soap put in your mouth.
Thanks for the nomination Hex.

you don't see MY name on it and I didn't white out the person's name who did (I could have)
The artists and copyright is there..
Torture is torture
If you were one of the victims it wouldn't matter who it was doing it
I thought the U.S. was suppost to be spreading democracy around the world
I don't recall being stripped and forced to jerk off in front of strangers, naked pyramids, having electrical wires shocking my dick or being beaten to death and other fun being taught in school in history class.
I've been in jail a few times and none of that happened then either..
