Hamas Leader Killed to Help Consolidate PA Authority In Gaza

by Abdul al Darra Tuesday, Mar. 23, 2004 at 7:27 PM

It Is Widely Believed that Hamas Leader Shiek Yassin Was Killed With the Connivance of PA Leader Mohammed Dahlan, In Order to Consolidate Power for the PA in Gaza

Rumors are flying over Gaza that Hamas Spiritua Leader Shiek Yassin was executed with the consent of the Palestinian Authority and Yasser Arafat.

The execution of Yassin follows by a few days upon the shootout between PA and Hamas factions.

It is believed that the pending withdrawal of IDF forces would only be completed if the PA could guaranty control of Gaza City and the Gaza Strip. The PA needs the Hamas leadership out of the way in order to consolidate power in the Hamas stronghold.

Well, whatever

by Barney Tuesday, Mar. 23, 2004 at 7:34 PM

I hear that Arafat is afraid to go outdoors now, this thing has left him visibly shaken. Wonderful!

What is a spiritual leader???

by mymicz Tuesday, Mar. 23, 2004 at 8:19 PM

M.L.K. was a spiritual leader. Ghandi was a spiritual leader. Jesus was a spiritual leader. Recorded in history, the contributions of world spiritual leaders such as Buddha, Rabbi Hillel, Ram Dass, will undoubtedly help humanity and are indesputably rooted in world peace and self sacrifice of the most heavenly nature. None of these men ever called for blood shed. Not one was ever heard saying one race is emphatically more gifted to represent g-d or own a holy land.

Sheik Yassin was a quadrapalegic megalomaniac the likes of which Hitler himself could not have created. From his wheelchair he ordered hundreds of innocent Palestinians, Israelis, Foreign workers, and Israeli Arabs to death.

He ordered killings at day to day places of business, where normal people who do not have racial preferences worked. He ordered killings on busses, where nurses and average poor shmos would try to get a ride to work. He killed people who had nothing to do with his struggle.

He also brought suffering upon his people, using funds donated from Arabs around the world on weapons instead of food.

He was not a nice man, or a spiritual leader. He was an invalid, but he was like the evil brain in "A Wrinkle in Time," manipulating Palestinians into hate and fake Martyrdom so that his own glory was assured.

He will not be missed by anyone who is not an unequivocal racist, as he certainly was one of the highest order.

With the consent of the PA?

by Meyer London Tuesday, Mar. 23, 2004 at 8:25 PM

As if their consent was needed. How could they have prevented it? You don't see the US supplying Arafat with missles the way it supplies the Israelis. The whole point of this supplying of the Israeli terrorists is to allow Sharon to murder with impunity and also to carry out the dirty work of the US, which can claim that it had nothing to do with his dirty deeds and never imagined that Ariel would do nasty things like that with his US taxpayer-financed weapons.

one less terrorist

by SFRES Tuesday, Mar. 23, 2004 at 8:26 PM

One can only hope the IDF takes Arafat out next. I'm sure he has soiled his Depends after today.

A happy day for all

by BA Tuesday, Mar. 23, 2004 at 8:57 PM

This morning brought happy news in the global war on terror: Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, the genocidal maniac who serves as Hamas's "spiritual leader," is dead, killed by an Israeli missile strike. Yassin was quite a prolific murderer. "Over the past 3 1/2 years, . . . Hamas has, in 425 attacks, killed 377 Israelis and wounded 2076," notes the Jerusalem Post. "Hamas perpetrated 52 suicide attacks, in which 288 people were killed and 1646 were wounded."

The Middle East Media Research Institute quotes Yassin as saying in a 1998 ineterview: "The day in which I will die as a shahid [martyr] will be the happiest day of my life." So this is a happy day for everyone.

DEATH FROM ABOVE!

by eyeless in gaza Tuesday, Mar. 23, 2004 at 9:09 PM

The Israeli assassination of Sheikh Ahmed Yassin spells the bloody end of the so-called "roadmap to peace." It was a calculated murder designed not only to eliminate Palestinian leadership, but also to draw the U.S. ever closer to Sharon's war plans. Note that the killing was carried out with U.S. Apache helicopters.

The assassination was NOT sanctioned by the Palestinian Authority... that is a RIDICULOUS rumor. At this point the PA is without power or leverage of any kind... and overseeing the murder of Yassin would do nothing to bolster their standing or control. Quite the contrary.

The European Union, the United Nations, and Russia have all condemned the killing of Yassin... with each making the point that such assassinations are contrary to international law. Sharon gave the personal order to have Yassin killed, which makes the Israeli leader a war criminal. Even the governments of Egypt and Kuwait, the closest allies to the U.S., have condemned the assassination. The Polish representative to the European Union said: "I understand Israel's need to defend itself, but killing an old man in a wheelchair?"

Those who applaud the killing of Sheikh Ahmed Yassin can only be celebrating the end of peace and the beginning of a bloodbath the likes of which defy the imagination. The ghouls are gathering for the final showdown.

Here's what Gush Shalom, Israel's largest peace group, has to say about the "targeted killing" of Yassin:

"The assassination of Sheikh Ahmad Yassin, with its concomitant careless

killing of passers-by, is a mad provocative act by a government which

lost all restraint. It is the act of a pyromaniac fireman whose method of

putting out the fire of terrorism is to pour barrels of gasoline upon it, an

act which might cost the life of dozens or hundreds of Israeli citizens in the

near future.

Prime Minster Sharon's talk of "withdrawal from Gaza", which had caught

the headlines in the past months, is now revealed to be no more than

meaningless chatter. Far from seriously meaning to evacuate even a bit of

occupied territory, this bankrupt prime minister - faced with police

investigations into a myriad of corruption concerning himself and his sons

- seems determined to bequeath to his country a legacy of eternal war with

the Palestinians and the entire Arab and Muslim World. Every day that

this man remains in power poses a grave danger to the future of Israelis

and Palestinians alike.

Gush Shalom, the Israeli Peace Bloc, calls upon all sane and responsible

forces left in the international community to intervene, urgently and

forcefully, to save our region at the edge of the abyss and halt the

monstrous cycle of bloodshed which now threatens to engulf us."

STOP THE WAR! END THE OCCUPATION! FREE PALESTINE!

twisted ideals

by True jew Tuesday, Mar. 23, 2004 at 10:28 PM

But it was the twisted ideals and self-centered pragmatism that I encountered inside the Mossad, coupled with this so-called team's greed, lust, and total lack of respect for human life, that motivated me to tell this story.

It is out of love for Israel as a free and just country that I am laying my life on the line by so doing, facing up to those who took it upon themselves to turn the Zionist dream into the present-day nightmare.

p. viii} The Mossad, being the intelligence body entrusted with the responsibility of plotting the course for the leaders at the helm of the nation, has betrayed that trust. Plotting on its own behalf, and for petty, self-serving reasons, it has set the nation on a collision course with all-out war.

- Victor Ostrovsky, a former Mossad agent.

let us hear what Ariel Sharon says. Here is an extract from an interview in 1982 given to the renowned Israeli writer Amos Oz:

"What you don't understand is that the dirty work of Zionism is not finished yet, far from it… Even today I am willing to volunteer to do the dirty work for Israel, to kill as many Arabs as necessary, to deport them, to expel them and burn them, to have everyone hate us."

Of course we don't. Arafat is a monster. The enemy.

This erasing of this "spiratual leader" is of course a joyous event.

If you have any doubts, just look at how bent out of shape the resident nazi Jew haters like Meyer are getting.

ISRAEL APPLIES BUSH DOCTRINE TO HAMAS

by Joel C. Rosenberg Tuesday, Mar. 23, 2004 at 11:46 PM

ISRAEL APPLIES BUSH DOCTRINE TO HAMAS

So why is the White House reaction so mealy-mouthed and pathetic, especially when Hamas is now threatening to attack the U.S.?

By Joel C. Rosenberg
(WASHINGTON, D.C., March 22, 2004) -- Hamas founder Sheik Ahmed Yassin was the Osama bin Laden of Palestinian terrorism. By assassinating Yassin, the Israelis just applied the Bush Doctrine to one of the most deadly terrorist leaders on the face of the planet. In the winner-take-all war on terror, countries are either with us or against us. They either take decisive action -- even preemptive military action -- to bring terrorists to justice, or they are guilty of aiding and abetting the enemy. Israel is clearly with us. God bless them.

You'd think, therefore, that the Bush administration -- fresh off of losing Spain as a major ally in the war against radical Islam -- would be grateful and publicly praise our only democratic ally in the Middle East as a true partner for peace. Sadly, you'd be wrong.

The Bush administration's initial reaction to Israel's act of self-defense has been mealy-mouthed, pathetic and morally offensive.

White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan says all parties in the region should show "maximum restraint." State Department spokesman Richard Boucher likewise says "it's essential that all the parties exercise maximum restraint and do everything possible to avoid any further actions that would make more difficult the restauration of calm." National Security Advisor Condoleeza Rice concedes "Hamas is a terrorist organization and that Sheik Yassin has himself, personally, we believe, been involved in terrorist planning." But she's quick to add that "it is very important that everyone step back now and try now to be calm in the region."

This is hardly a full-throated defense for an American ally under siege by a seemingly never-ending wave of 9/11-style suicide bombers. Indeed, the Bush administration suddenly sounds eerily similar to our warm-weather friends in Europe. British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw says Israel's the assassination of Sheik Yassin "unacceptable, it's unjustified, and it's very unlikely to achieve its objective." =46rench Foreign Minister Dominique de Villepin says Israel's actions will "only fuel the cycle of violence."

Au contraire.
Israel's move was both justified and likely to achieve its objective, if it's followed up by an all-out war on Hamas, Islamic Jihad and the militant elements of Yasser Arafat's murderous regime. Let's be clear about the facts. Under Sheik Yassin's inspiration and direction, Hamas launched 425 attacks against Israel over the past three and a half years. Among these were more than 50 suicide bombings, such as the March 2002 bombing of a Passover celebration at a seaside hotel and the June 2002 suicide bombing of a Jerusalem bus carrying children on their way to school.

All told, Hamas has killed some 377 Israelis and wounded 2,076 others, a horrifyingly huge number given Israel's relatively small population. Indeed, in proportion to our own population, that would be similar to al-Qaeda killing 16,956 American souls, and wounding another 93,420.

Can you imagine the Bush administration exercising "maximum restraint" if over 100,000 Americans had been killed or wounded at the hands of a radical Islamic terrorist network? Of course not. It's hard to imagine even John "hell no we won't go" Kerry showing such "restraint" if Americans were being slaughtered in such ghastly numbers.

Why then won't the Bush White House proudly stand side-by-side with Israel as a strategic ally against a radical Islamic jihad? Is not Israel following President Bush's own requests?
On September 20, 2001, the President addressed a Joint Session of Congress and told the world: "Our war on terror begins with al-Qaeda, but it does not end there. It will not end until every terrorist group of global reach has been found, stopped and defeated=85. Americans should not expect one battle, but a lengthy campaign, unlike any other we have ever seen. It may include dramatic strikes, visible on TV, and covert operations, secret even in success. We will starve terrorists of funding, turn them one against another, drive them from place to place, until there is no refuge or no rest. And we will pursue nations that provide aid or safe haven to terrorism. Every nation, in every region, now has a decision to make. Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists. From this day forward, any nation that continues to harbor or support terrorism will be regarded by the United States as a hostile regime.

In his State of the Union address on January 29, 2002, President Bush said: "My hope is that all nations will heed our call, and eliminate the terrorist parasites who threaten their countries and our own. Many nations are acting forcefully. But some governments will be timid in the face of terror. And make no mistake about it: If they do not act, America will."

In his June 1, 2002 speech at West Point, the President stated unequivocally: "Our security will require transforming the military you will lead - a military that must be ready to strike at a moment's notice in any dark corner of the world. And our security will require all Americans to be forward-looking and resolute, to be ready for preemptive action when necessary to defend our liberty and to defend our lives."

Distancing ourselves from foul-weather friends such as Israel won't help us win the war on terror. Indeed, for the first time, Hamas -- convinced the U.S. gave Israel the green light for assassinating Yassin -- is now directly threatening the United States with retaliation. "All the Muslims of the world will be honored to join in on the retaliation for this crime," says a new Hamas statement. "The Zionists didn't carry out their operation without getting the consent of the terrorist American administration, and it must take responsibility for this crime." Mohammed Mahdi Akef -- head of an Egyptian terrorist faction known as the Muslim Brotherhood -- told Al-Jazeera television: "There can be no life for the Americans and Zionists in the region. We will not rest until they are expelled from the region."

No point kidding ourselves: the United States and Israel are in this war together. We've both been targeted by radical Islam. The only way to win is to stay united.

Fascist nostalgia

by Meyer London Wednesday, Mar. 24, 2004 at 12:16 AM

How appropriate; Hitler had his Alfred Rosenberg and Sharon has his Joel Rosenberg. Different ethnic groups but basically the same ideology - spilling human blood is ok as long as it advances one's own volk, militarism is wonderful if it works, the powerless have no rights, claim that the oppressor is really the oppressed and count on sympathizers in the popular press to spread this lie to the public. This is called fascism. However, fascist reichs have a way of ending up badly; some day the world will see the last helecopter taking off from the US embassy in Israel, perhaps with an aging William Krystol hanging on for dear life to one of the wheels. Ann Coulter may be hanging on to the other one.

You can call the "palestinians" anything you want if it makes you able to stomach their barbaric behavior, but the rest of us are utterly clear as to the fact that THEY are the monsters.

Killing hamas et.al. members should be an Olympic event.
