I'm no longer able to link up to Al-Jareez. Anyone else having problems? It doesn't even show up on a google search anymore. Guess we'll have to ask that our Web sites are hosted by French and German companies soon.
Same here in Sweden. I have tried but no jazera on the net here either.
Time to start calling the civil liberties organizations. I'll get the ACLU on the line.
It's obvious this site is being monitored for dissidents.
Al Jazeera is showing up for me, both the actual site and the search results in Yahoo and Google.
Google Proxy: http://www.google-watch.org/cgi-bin/proxy.htm
This allows you to use Google without Google being able to record what you are doing. It also Bypasses any filters - unles Google is outright Blocking the site.
Another search engine just as good as Google is Alltheweb.com.
I noticed this off and on in the last two days. other sites with material Uncle Sam wouldn't particularly care for were having similar problems.
Al-Jareez is an odd case because you would assume that as a large organization they have invested a sizable chunk of money on server and bandwidth horsepower. While it's possible they were flooded by real users, it's also possible that they were hit by a cyber attack out of friendly neighborhood software programs in Virginia ;-) Al-Jazeera themselves are best equipped to tell what's going on because they can look at their server logs. Before you call the civil liberties folks, you should call Al-Jazeera and ask them to investigate. But I've seen the site go down regularly in the last two days and it's definitely suspicious.
Thanks folks, was really upset there for a bit, it's the one place I reley on to balance the vomit on CNN.
No! Don't tell me that terrorist organizations will no longer have a news organization that reports with a slant to their favor!
Don't tell me that Saddam Hussein will no longer have a TV network that he can use to violate terms of the Geneva Convention by parading American POWs!
Screw MTV.....I want my al-Jazeera!
May I have my Prozac now?
