by Karl Adomeit Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2001 at 4:37 PM
karladomeit@hotmail.com Canada

Italy's interior minister Claudio Scajola has stepped down this morning august 28th.

According to Indymedia Italy and La Repubblica newspaper interior minister Scajola resigned this morning august 28th. He mentions that he has been a victim of a ferocious difamation campaign in Italy regarding the brutal police actions during last months G-8 Summit in Genoa. Standing in solidarity with the police and still claiming that the police had done a good job in Genoa, Scajola also mentioned that he wasn't resigning due to political pressure. Berlusconi has accepted the resignation in order to keep his right wing coalition intact. Scajola's substitute will be Antonio Ascione.

Good Fucking Riddance

Good to see someone losing their job over the raw display of state power in Genoa. Too bad that's nowhere near good enough. I suppose it's a start.

Guys,

sorry for the bad new, but the article published in indymedia italy was not reporting a real new. It was intended to be a 'sarcastic' article by a guy whom also published other article like that.

Unfortunately that son of a bitch of Scajola is always a minister in italy.
